Re: Sell OUR Team Danny Boy - DC Metro Bus Ads
Hoo, I read that part about the refund.
Don't you think Mr. Snyder heard or at least heard about the "Sell the team" chants at the stadium when they played the Chiefs? I understand wanting to promote change, but if that's what their goal is, then just say that. This is almost as bad as the Vikings calling an artic tundra "Greenland". |

Re: Sell OUR Team Danny Boy - DC Metro Bus Ads
I think sell the team sends the message more clearly. I don't think this is about getting Snyder to literally sell the team, as much as airing out a real sentiment that exists amongst the fans.
This message communicates more bluntly the collective and utter disgust with the direction of this franchise under Snyder's ownership. What other way to cut to the chase about how you feel about Snyder? So while I'm neither pro or con this project, I think sell the team conveys the real message. Re: Sell OUR Team Danny Boy - DC Metro Bus Ads
Everybody speaks in subtext these days.
Hey 12th...I love you man, and I say that because the message communicates more bluntly the collective and utter appreciation I have for your thoughtfull posts. What other way to cut to the chase about the way that I feel about your contributions to this forum. Don't feel left out Hooskins...I love you too. |

Not even close. I am in the middle of interviewing for an open position and until I get somebody hired I have to pull some additional hours. So the short answer is that, I am still at work.

Re: Sell OUR Team Danny Boy - DC Metro Bus Ads
Let me also say that Snyder is plenty embarrassed by what's going on right now. The latest move banning signs inside the stadium has already backfired and has had unintended consequences. Every media outlet has picked up this story and is running with it non stop, reinforcing the perception that Snyder is all about Snyder.
The thing is this ain't Detroit or Cleveland folks. People expect those teams to be bad and won't give a second thought about going to the playoffs better yet the Super Bowl. The Redskins, on the other hand, are a proud franchise with very loyal and proud fans, and a very proud city. We expect to win here. And after we're done winning, we hoist up our heroes and put them in the Hall of Fame. This is no ordinary decline by just another sports franchise. But what adds insult to injury, at least in the minds of the fans, is that those franchises are bad, in part, because they don't live in markets where NFL franchises can thrive long term. Snyder has spent millions upon millions and has fielded a very mediocre product for ten years. It's not that the Redskins are bad, we're expensively bad! |

Re: Sell OUR Team Danny Boy - DC Metro Bus Ads
I think a better way (and it may have already been mentioned) is to stop supporting the companies that sponsor the Redskins. Instead of Papa Johns or Popeyes chicken got to Jose's Chicken hut and Crazy Pete's Pizzaria....or whatever.
You have to make sure to let the company know the reason for you taking your buisness elsewhere. Be sure to specify that when they no longer have a buisness relationship with Washington, and only then will you patronize there buisness again. |

Re: Sell OUR Team Danny Boy - DC Metro Bus Ads
It doesn't matter either way. I just realized that I'm getting pissed off over some stupid title to a thread on a blog that is attempting to get the owner of an NFL team to make changes.
The reasoning behind my (and probably everyone elses) short fuse is that we are fed up with the Redskins, and we can't do anything about it. At least thats my realization... |

Re: Sell OUR Team Danny Boy - DC Metro Bus Ads
Alright to answer a few things.
We actually wanted to go with a billboard, however; that costs in the neighborhood of 25-40k in the DC area, and there are a totally of zero billboards on 495. We did not want to use Fire Vinny for several reasons. At the time we started this (a week ago), there was a slight rumor floating around that Vinny may get fired if we lose the philly game. We didn’t want to take the chance that Vinny was already gone and we just raised a bunch of money. Plus in my opinion, and many others, it all starts at the top. Danny is responsible for all of this. I really feel he is. It is his fault we are the Raiders of the NFC, that coaches don’t want to coach for us, that fans get nickeld and dimed out of everything Redskins related, that our team is a bottom 5 team, that we suck, that you cant bring signs to the game, that luxury ticket holders are getting sued because they lost their jobs, that we have no offensive line but have the highest paid player to ever play the game (I like big Al, but whats the point if we have MAYBE 1 offensive lineman that could start almost anywhere else). Bottom line this is Danny’s fault, it starts at the top. We do not expect Danny to sell the team. I didn’t expect a bb gun for Christmas when I was 7, but I asked for it anyways. Would I like Danny to sell, absolutely. I would be just as satisfied if Danny stopped interfering with OUR team as I would if he sold the team. A ad that reads Sell OUR Team sends a much clearer statement. You don’t get picked up by the media for saying Mr. Snyder Please Change This, Thanks!. This is a AD, not a cover letter, no time for P’s and Q’s. We started this because soooo many fans were complaining, but not really doing anything. During times like this its great to complain about Synder, Vinny, or Zorn or whoever but at least try to do something. Even if you HATE what we are doing, I encourage to at least set up a Danny Snyder is Awesome! Facebook page (2-5 minutes tops), or a mlmpetert Sucks facebook page. One of the main objectives we had was to encourage people to do something rather than just be content with the way things are. Our thoughts are if you think something needs to be done to fix the franchise make a attempt. If you are already thinking that by next August that there is a really really good chance the Skins could go all the way this year….. Well then just know when you are disappointed again that there is always next year.…. People are making t shirts, writing blogs, mailing their fan cards in, planning to travel to Atlanta with signs, not buying skins gear, saying they are gonna give up their season tickets, skipping games, and so on and so on. People have had enough! Blame Danny, or Vinny, or Jimmy, but if you don’t do anything right now blame yourself next year.
