I know there are other threads about FA, but with it about to kickoff in earnest, I felt this was a good time to start one about what really happens.

It sounds like it all starts at 7pm:

Twas the nite before FA & all through the internet not a single thing was moving not even a mouse. I hope we spend wisely. I must say i may not agree with alot of our moves but atleast we have a owner that's not afraid to spend & really wants to win.

Unfortunately, this has been the only time of the year where we win. I am very excited about this year because I want to see our new leadership operate.

I'm excited for this years free agency period. A lot of changes are very close. I want to talk more about it, but I don't know where to post. There are like 5 or 6 threads on the main page right now related to free agency. Maybe a merge?Just a suggestion.

We can close this one if that's what the mod's decide is best. My intent was to give a fresh slate to talk about what actually happens now that it has started, but I can live with only the other ones.

Oh I wasn't suggesting we close this. That's not my place. I just feel like the free agency discussions are pretty cluttered right now.

Anyway, I'll probably stay up tonight until 1 or 2am to see if anything goes down.

Without a QB, these moves really won't do too much for us. Campbell is not a big time QB. He could get us to the Playoffs MAYBE, but that's it.

To say I'm looking forward to it would be an understatement. I want to see the new FO in action and what positions we address. Mainly I'd like to know we're not going into next year with a crippled o-line and no back-ups. I would also like to see the talent on defense take a step up.

Unless SmootSmack is planning on pulling an allnighter, i dont see any point in staying up. I used to do that, but nothing ever happens at 12:01. i just plan on waking up a little earlier than normal in the AM to see who we signed.

Are you sure you want to trade our #1 pick for Marshall? Right when we can get Okung? Davis? Berry? or maybe even Bradford?

Edit: Even though I hope we would at least try to sign Rolle, by having his presence would help Landry - I believe.. We need someone who can take over some of Landry's responsibilities, in rookie year, he was looking good due to Sean Taylor.. Speaking of safeties; first of all, I'm not saying I advocate the idea of drafting Berry with our #1 pick; but I would not oppose to the idea, suppose Redskins decided to pick him.. Defense wins championships, especially now that we are in the passing game era..

Once again, I think the safest and most important thing to do for this franchise is to draft Okung..
