My fear as well. However, in another thread Smootsmack is spinning the scenario where we swap #1's with Cleveland and get two of their third rounders. Montario Hardesty, here we come!

For the record, that scenario is not based on anything but my own wishes

LOL...I wish

By the way, it's not guaranteed that the Browns got one of the Raiders 3rd round picks (even though Cleveland already has two of their own) for Wimbley. I've also heard a 4th; a 4th and a 6th; and a 4th and a 5th as the other possibilities. Don't think it's been confirmed yet.

I dont see the browns letting go of any picks.........But hopefully we could get some quality picks in a package deal for some of our underperforming players...........

That would be a good day.

Smootsmack said that the trade with Cleveland is in the bag.

So I think it's confirmed now that it is a 3rd (not sure which one Oakland gave up though)

Hey SS, while you're around, when is the name change going to occur? I mean, Smoot is no longer a Redskin after all...

Neither is Art Monk but we still artmonkhofin07 (or something like that). Until and unless Smoot signs with another team he's still a Redskin in my heart

Seriously though, the name SmootSmack was more about the brash attitude that his Smootness brought as a rookie (and not as much about the player) so I don't plan on changing it again...unless we sign Rex Grossman in which case...SexyRexy here I come!

Ah yes, SexyRexy, he may become the last vestige of the ol' Ball Coach still haunting the Redskins.

I actually don't think Grossman will be here (I mean he might be a last minute, as in close to training camp, signing) but I don't really see him making the final roster....could be wrong though

Sorry friend, there are plenty of us with a healthy amount of football knowledge who will always object to the signing of a man accused of multiple violent attacks on women. Further, your use of the term "bitch slap" when talking about Larry Johnson is just plain childish and ignorant.

I actually respect the football merit of the signing, and had this been any other player, I would support the move and the contract structure. However, in my mind there is no "gray area" when it comes to violence against women, and LJ has a long and well documented history of assaults on women, including brandishing a firearm and slapping one, shoving another to the ground, choking a third, and spitting on then threatening to kill yet another. He has been arrested or detained for four separate incidents since 2003...that's 7 years he's had to clean up his act and failed to do so.

The crowning jewel, of course, was getting jettisoned from his team mid-season last year for two separate incidents of running his mouth about the coaching staff and hurling racial and homophobic slurs at reporters.

So, again, I'll repeat, any other Joe with his numbers and I like this move, but LJ will never get a cheer or a clap out of me, and I will consider it a blight on the franchise so long as he is in the Redskins employ.

Re: Redskins Sign Larry Johnson

A lot of those are allegations aren't they? Allegations that were never necessarily proven I believe. Could be wrong though, and like I've said before even one time is one time too many.

But I mean I guess it's like Gmanc said at the beginning of this thread, even though we don't really know what goes on in the personal lives of any of these players as long as we don't I guess it's ok to root for them. Ignorance is bliss.
