27 Redskins
21 Giants

Nail-biter to the finish.

Re: Redskins vs. Giants pre-game thread

Has anyone else been hearing the rumors of the potential terrorist attacks this weekend and wondered if they might be planning something for the game? Think about it, 85,000 people gathering at a stadium on the 10th anniversary of 9/11, that would be an obvious target to me. I've heard a couple things that's making me reconsider going to the game. Nothing credible but you never know.

Re: Redskins vs. Giants pre-game thread

I'd like to see us win an away NFC East game, I really don't care how.
I see the skins as a 7-9 team...which means we may win 3 of 6 NFC east games, maybe.
Winning an away game would be huge, especially one with emotionally charged NYC fans due to 9/11. I just don't see it happening...yet.
This team needs to gel, especially the defense.
The giants have run all over us, I don't know if we have the size to stop them yet...we shall see. I sure hope I am wrong.

A van filled with explosives couldn't get close to the stadium itself, but an attempt to get into one of the parking lots seems plausible.

There is so much police presence at an NFL game that I find it hard to believe that would be the kind of target that a POS terrorist would even consider.

Re: Redskins vs. Giants pre-game thread

Give me a break with this terrorist bullshit. It's amazing how the media can send people into fear by pumping out crap like this. It's sickening that the public buys into this crap. You are more likely to be killed by a raving drunken idiot in the parking lot than you are of Muhammad blowing you up in his Jihad. Which do YOU think is the bigger priority? Amazing how backwards we have our priorities.

I keep going back to this clip:

It's so true.

To play devils advocate, they targeted the pentagon & the white house.

pentagon security > football stadium security

I just got tickets and I'll be there Sunday, but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't at least a little nervous. I really don't think anything will happen but it's definitely in the back of my mind.

Re: Redskins vs. Giants pre-game thread

Authorities are on high alert. Security at the stadium, at airports, etc., will be tight. It's not like 9/11/01 when everyone had their guards down. I think game-goers will be just fine.

However, the Giants had better watch out for an explosion, because Helu is THE BOMB!

This is a serious issue whether you take it that way or not.

With heavily fueled transcontinental AIRPLANES.

The news is reporting that they are looking for two missing VANS.

Exactly what's so serious about it? Again, the drunks at the stadium pose more of a threat than any terrorist, but you don't hear the media talking about that. Probably because the alcohol companies are pumping their pockets full of cash to advertise their products. I'm willing to bet you good money that a good portion of people (that drink before/during game) are legally drunk when they drive home. Yet we are supposed to worry about the bogey man from across the seas trying to take our way of life away? Puuuhlease.
