Re: Redskins vs. Jets Game Thread
Zorn will probably end up having a better record after 2 yrs then Shanahan.Im not saying Zorn was great or deserved a 3rd yr,what I am saying is Shanahan sucks and has shown me nothing positive either in his coaching, picking talent, time management, etc etc.Dont know why he gets a free pass.Zorn had to deal with Cerrato and Snyder meddling in everything,Shanahan doesnt have that excuse and Shanahan probably has more talent on the team then Zorn had to work with.

Re: Redskins vs. Jets Game Thread
Lol, yep ur right. Im currious to see how this rebuilding plan plays out, is either going to show signs of success or Shantinhishand will be out of a job by the end of next year. Next year will be huuuuuge! If 6-10 next and the lynch mob will be out in full force.

Well, that's correct, but I would argue that the very first step to winning consistently is to win at some point. Longest winning streak with this coaching staff: two games.

Re: Redskins vs. Jets Game Thread
I can see how that can be misconstrued{did I spell that right?]Im talking more about the defensive picks weve made.If Shanny had anything to do with those picks then props to him.The only off player hes drafted thats produced anything worth talking about is Helu, and it took him way too long to get him in the lineup.Maybe Im blinded by my disgust for him and the way hes handled the qb situation and its keeping me from seeing the good hes done,IDK.But like I said hes most likely going to end up with a worse record after 2 yrs then Zorn so I dont see why he gets a free pass, especially with his past bad descisions

Contrary to his record, tell me where that talent is,is he bringing in talent or is Allen doing it?Every team in the NFL has talent ...it's the coachs job to get it to work together.

Re: Redskins vs. Jets Game Thread
Is Jonathan Crompton good enough yet to be promoted to the active roster? I can't bare watching Rex Grossman playing QB for the Redskins a second longer and Beck is 0-7 as a starter and would be 0-8 if he started another game. I saw video clips of Crompton play in college and he looked good. At this point in the season with four games remaining, what bad would it be to see what Crompton can do in a regular season NFL game?

Re: Redskins vs. Jets Game Thread
Most NFL QB's looked good when they were in college. Not all Qb's that looked good in college look good in the NFL though.

Re: Redskins vs. Jets Game Thread
That true. Just look at Tim Couch, Heath Shuler, and Ryan Leaf. Each of those QBs were a beast in college, but less than a mouse in the NFL. But would promoting Crompton to the active roster and giving him instant playing time be a bad move at this juncture? We saw Beck, who has absolutely nothing. We've seen Grossman, who turns the ball over like it's a disease. Now, I'd like to see Jonathan Crompton give it a go. What would it hurt? Mike Shanahan should place him on the active roster and let him get some experience.

Re: Redskins vs. Jets Game Thread
What then are you telling your starters? "We have no hope for getting better this year so we are going to plug this unproven guy in to see what he's got." The coach knows what he has in Crompton he watches him practice on a daily basis. To turn over this offense to a rookie who has only been running the scout team ofense would be setting up the entire team for failure. Top it off with our starting left tackle being suspended and I assume that you wish watch the guy get killed.
While it is understandable that the season is at a loss in terms of playoff hopes there is still hope that those who aren't suspended get more time to gell together on both offense and defense. I am not opposed to giving some young guys a chance to shine and show what they can do on the field, but the football has to go through the QB on almost every offensive snap. You could jeapordize the growth of every other player on the field if that position isn't somewhat competent. Perhaps if Crompton were already running the offense with the 1's and 2's then I would probably say "give him a shot" however, giving a practice squad QB a baptism by fire is not exactly what I would consider a sound decision. While I do not like Grossman and I know that he isn't our future he is the best option that we have right now. I just hope that we see more of good Rex than bad Rex for the rest of the season. I am willing to speculate that even Bad Rex is better than any form of Crompton right now. Last edited by KLHJ2; 12-06-2011 at 02:11 PM. |
