Re: 2012 Redskins Free Agency (and Trades) Tracker (Chapter III)
Jacoby Jones isn't bad. In fact, I like him as a return specialist but he might have a hard time beating out little Brandon Banks in a competition battle if he is brought in. Banks usually goes all out in the preseason in order to make the team.

Banks doesn't have a shot at making the team this year. He was on the bubble last year, and if it weren't for the TD against Tampa, I'm not so sure he would have made the roster. When you have guys like Niles Paul who are faster, let alone half the team who are just as fast as him, I can't see why they'd cut one of them (who can play WR), for someone who can only do one thing.

Mike loves his competition, so who knows. Maybe if he likes Banks a lot, he'll cut him sooner than later so he has a shot at going to another team.

Re: 2012 Redskins Free Agency (and Trades) Tracker (Chapter III)
Every year we hear Banks is gone. He's a one trick poney. Hasn't happened yet. MS likes Banks as the return guy. Knows he could break something open at anytime. However I think we all get frustrated during the season cause he hardly does. But he does give us decent field position usually. So the question is .... is there something we don't know? Does MS see the blocking breaking down elsewhere, or players hurt who would have opened up a hole, and keeping Banks is not the issue?
Could there be a future speed package? All the fast guys on the field to include Banks at WR or RB? |

so niles paul had a good 40 time whatever, when you see him and banks run on the field its not even a question, banks is much faster. when you play football its not a 40 yard dash, and if he was faster you have to think he would have atleast got a chance to return kicks or punts.

It's not Paul Banks needs to worry about. It's Aldrick Robinson.

Banks looks fast because he's so small...

I bet there are several guys on the roster faster than Banks (with pads on).
- Torrence - Hall - Griffin III - Helu - Moss - Robinson - Austin - Garcon
