Re: Griffin vs luck game day thread
I actually liked RG3 erring on the side of caution in throwing the deep ball a little long. Last season, Rex would just throw it up for our recievers to make a play on a defender, and we usually lost that matchup. We had nobody like Calvin Johnson to lay it up to.
Now if Garcon, Morgan, Brisco? demonstrate they can win those matchups consistently... |

Cooley is TE2 and FB2... had some great blocks (two on the long run down to the 3 yard line by Morris alone). |

Re: Griffin vs luck game day thread
I know it's probably been said over and over. But I'm really impressed thus far with Alfred Morris. Even though this week was against a converted 3-4.

Alfred Morris, RGIII Make The Most Of Their Time - The Burgundy Warpath
Just wanted to share something from our site. Starting to really like the atmosphere here. Way better than ExtremeSkins.

Re: Griffin vs luck game day thread
Thanks, I thought he did really well. Don't ever forget last season. He picked off Brady and Manning back-to-back.

Re: Griffin vs luck game day thread
It would save the team like 5 mil or something. So keeping a guy that cost that much and isn't a number one and barely a two doesn't make much sense.

Click on "Salaries" Grossman and Doughty don't make that much. edit: Agreed if you're talking about Cooley, though other posters are pointing out his versatility at TE/FB/H-Back. Last edited by HailGreen28; 08-25-2012 at 10:19 PM. |

Re: Griffin vs luck game day thread
Richard Crawford did not prove he was any more than a one game wonder...it is a shame...he may not make the final squad now....and we needed another CB badly

Re: Griffin vs luck game day thread
LOL. Rookie 7th round pick plays inconsistent in preseason and people are surprised? He's had 3 preseason games so far, let's give him time to learn and grow before we jump to snap conclusions. If he's still playing like he hasn't learned anything in a couple years then it's safe to judge him.

Re: Griffin vs luck game day thread
Also...interesting thought.
After 3 games our Rookie QB has thrown....get ready for this ZERO INTERCEPTIONS When has that ever happened? In fact, I don't recall any throws that were even close to picks. That is an AMAZING fact. As good as Luck is...he is throwing picks, RG3 is not. His TD to interception ratio was amazing in college, it seems to me to be a trend in his transition to the NFL. What kills rookie QB's are picks, he's doing awesome so far! I am frankly shocked about this fact so far, i was a bit skeptical, Luck and RG3 look like legit NFL starters already. I know that is what everyone has been saying, but I wanted to see it to believe it first. All the chatter about these two seems to be coming true. They are both rock solid! HOORAY!!!

Re: Griffin vs luck game day thread
Just pointing out his lack of passing errors in live game situations is significant at this point, especially as a rookie, no reason to go overboard on your texting skills.

Re: Griffin vs luck game day thread
Great points by both Skinsnut and Mooby. Obviously it's nice that he hasn't thrown a pick but keep in mind he has fumbled the ball. Then again in the end the only two things that really matter in preseason is not getting injured and looking competent.
