It would be nice if the Eagles implode, though I doubt they will. It's already a tight 3 horse race in the NFCE, without Philly.

IMO I see it as a three horse race until mid-season, after which the Fluffboys will fade.

And the Eagles may not have to implode to be bad. They may implode because they are bad.

Gabe Carimi traded by Chicago Bears to Tampa Bay Buccaneers - ESPN Chicago

What a waste of a 1st round pick. Apparently he isn't too happy about being played at guard so he's pouting and missing the OTAs with a new coach. Bad move. Got his ass sent packing. Not sure why he's made about being moved, he sucked as a tackle.

Apparently he's ok:

Merriman is apparently okay as he was reportedly spotted back out on the town after the medical emergency and has been active on Twitter. Merriman has bemoaned the loss of a pair of sunglasses and a ruined "Lights Out" shirt, while expressing excitement about seeing The Game at The Greystone Manor in West Hollywood last night. Merriman posted a photo of their meeting on Instagram.

a literal "wake up" call.

Jeez, I usually dont respond to the question "what you doing this weekend?" with "trying to OD". He needs to seek help immediately.

Guy is a complete idiot. He'll know better next time he appears in a courtroom.

That said, it's sad he's having to serve 30 days in jail for a slap on the ass, all the while Josh Brent is walking around free right now, even after failing a drug test.

Re: NFL News Offseason Style

Going back to this, it's amazing how many morons I've seen in the /r/nfl subreddit blaming the judge and calling the judge a prick. Are these people morons? (rhetorical question) They think that because "it's a joke" that nothing should be done to him and that 30 days was too harsh. You then remind them that he's been sentenced 30 days because of his previous violations, and the judge rejected the plea deal because she didn't think he was serious.

I'm dumbfounded by the sheer stupidity of people. I shouldn't be, but I am.

I have to say, I did appreciate Stephen A. Smith's rant about CJ. It was accurate and dead on.

Dude is an idiot. Plain and simple. I hope the judge puts him in jail for as long as possible to make an example out of him and maybe, just possibly, straighten him up so he realizes how big of an idiot he looks to society.

The bigger idiots are the ones commenting about how he didn't do anything, and how the judge is a bitch and is on a power trip. /facepalm

Can we get JR's take on this? I imagine he's probably seen judges slam the book on people for a lot less.

Ive seen judges not slam the book for alot more.

Cant disrespect the court room, but 30 days is excessive imo.

The 30 days isn't for the slap. That 30 days is for the violation of parole. The slap just showed her that he wasn't serious about the situation and denied the plea agreements between the prosecution/defense. It would have been contempt of court had she punished him for the slap itself. Also, according to the ESPN article and her quote, that wasn't the first time he's acted that way in her court. So something tells me that it wasn't this incident alone either, it was just the straw that broke the camel's back.

I highly doubt he's going to do the full 30 days.
