Re: The Bad News Thread

We started a war in the Middle East. This is the result. Violence feeds violence. We can get some yahoo in office to send another a million Americans to War and that is not going to do a God damn thing to stop these small cells all over the world from springing into action. It just pisses these Assholes off and they plan more sneaky bullshit terrorist attacks. In this case compassion and understanding may be the best avenue. Not towards the terrorists but towards The world in general. Shape future generations with a positive message not a violent one.
If we had some magic bomb we could drop that would somehow blow up terrorists alone Id press the button myself. There is just no easy action to take in this War. But we can certainly always spread a positive message and hope that most of the world is with us.

Jimmy Carter Pres Obama Neville Chamberlain Woodrow Wilson. All presidents/leaders who didn't understand that wanting peace doesn't mean being naively optimistic about tthe good nature of man. And all saw the world worsen under their well intentioned stewardship.

Who knows the what ifs of others were president. They aren't and Pres Obama and the congress has failed to find a workable strategy for years. Hopefully the world will pull out of this nosedive but I don't think history is on our side for that.

I think that these terrorists make up a micro fraction of the world, and the good nature of man will prevail. Its all about future generations NOT being radicalized. Thats the only way it will fizzle out and crawl back under the rock. Thats why its so important to remain calm and not come across like some War monger. Luckily Trump will not be bringing his loud mouth and pea brain to the Whitehouse or we would really see a "failed strategy" at work. The current state of affairs in our world would seem like a picnic.

Is there another candidate in the running I am not aware of?
Because you cannot seriously be advocating more of the Hill and Bill show of lies and thievery? Can you?

You lost me at good nature of man. Religious fervor doesn't just fizzle out. It erupts into massive and bloody martyrdoms. Kamikazees, crusades, purges. But anyways. Lets go to the debating thread or agree to move on. There is enough bad news without bringing the dark and ugly topic that is american presidential politics in here.

Remeber the pulse night club shooting? Remember the response was gun control? Would have gun control stopped this attack?

Gun control isn't stopping these savages...

Gun control would help. Again there are no easy answers. Ofcourse these lunatics will find a way to fuck up our day, but we have to start taking steps to make the world a safer place. Id say not letting people on watch lists purchase weapons over the counter is a damn good start.

Did you want to start with vehicles? 32k killed per/year USA
Cell phones? 15k deaths p/year associated texting...
Outlawing trucks? Maybe that would have prevented the 100..ish killed the other night.
Yes, we do have to start doing...something. Currently we do not seem to be able to focus on any real action, just knee jerk nonsense that has little meaning outside of political arena's

The real question to you is do you condone a known liar, thief as qualities you can accept in your CIC? I guess you have already answered that, right? The Hill and Bill show are now and have been known quantities. There is still question as to Trump. My idea of the great candidate? No. Strictly lessor of two evils type of thing.
Still...Hill may well get in office on the backs of the same general...Low Brow, hand out, promise me me everything/deliver nothing...folks that got Barry O elected...twice, right?
Lol, we all have seen how that disastrous experiment has gone.....

Trump is no different. How many thousands of people must he con before we refer to him as a liar. He has no business in the whitehouse. Hillary isnt my ideal candidate but she has experience with the political world. Plus there is this....

I do not 100% disagree with you but the difference is Trump may surprise you or may prove to be as bad as Hill. She has already proven to be completely untrustworthy and incompetent. When I have more time later, I will try to post some interesting stuff.
It....ain't a good situation to be in, but here we are..........

Re: The Bad News Thread

So where is the due process for watchlists? The government won't even say how many people are on it. And a point I heard the other day - suppose an individual is denied a purchase of a gun while on the watchlist are we showing the governments hand?

Hillary Trump Johnson definitely belongs in politics.
