You can tell Speilman wasn't at all comfortable in his press conference. I think owners should stand up there and take the heat if they want to make decisions like that.

Thats kinda a punk thing to do, because allowing to hear both side of the arguement to me is a good thing. Allow the venting is healthy.

But good god, how could anybody defend blantent child abuse?

Another thing is the track record of AP, kinda wish skinsfaninok was here to comment. Think he had some insight to AP around his area.

No idea.

It's been amazing the past few weeks to hear people downplay domestic violence, and now child abuse. Just mind blowing.

The interviews with fans at the Ravens game last thursday night wearing the Rice jerseys were mind numbing. I heard them on talk radio the next day...one lady actually said "when you hit someone, dont you expect them to retaliate?" This was a woman in Baltimore who said that. That actually came out of her mouth.

Still in the spirit of one upness that all guys are cursed with, you think thats bad, try reading the Twitters or YouTube comments to see those same people in text form. Though I can't help but think that hearing and/or seeing people make such comments is much more painful.

The same way PSU fans defended (and still do) Joe Paterno. These people don't give two fucks about child abuse unless it impacts their own family. In fact, chances are they don't give a fuck about anything unless it's about them. It's the "ME" generation and our politicians are leading the way.

It's pretty evident by their actions. No assumptions are needed.

Yup.

Everyone's quick to click like on facebook and retweet on twitter. Because it's easy.

Actually standing by your own morals is much harder.

It's not just the fans... the NCAA quietly lifted most of the sanctions again PSU the day after the Peterson stuff broke. Good timing on their part.

As much as everyone crows about the importance of morals, few seem to actually stand by them. Especially when money is involved.

Thats the sickest part. So many organizations seem to withhold taking basic action until they start to look at moral issues as business decisions. Does XYZ corporation really support gay rights, sure so long as it helps the bottom line and protects us from litigation. Really you guys can't decide to do that without thinking about cash flows and income statements? Do we really need a chart to decide what to do?

You would think that the perps being protected in these situations were on the verge of curing AID's or Cancer. Like if we could just hold off for a little bit on exposing Sir Rapes-a-lot we can save all these people.

Re: Around the League: Week 2

@APkrawczynski

An eye-opening development: Nike stores in Twin Cities have pulled all Adrian Peterson merch from shelves. Nike.

So you're already looking at 3 sponsors making moves or making statements. That's a surefire way to get the NFL's attention.

The irony here is that Nike doesn't support child abuse, yet they support exploiting children in 3rd world countries that work in bad conditions for low pay.

Well at least that way we'll drown quicker. No need to prolong this insanity. Lol.

Panthers signed Seastrunk to their practice squad. No link, I'm mobile.
