Re: Washington Capitals 2009-2010 ongoing thread
That goal on Varly was the perfect example of why he will not be the starter going into the playoffs.

Even though the score is 1-1 right now, the Caps are dominating this game. I can't wait for the playoffs!

How did we loose with Boyd Gordon and Matt Bradley on the shootout?

Re: Washington Capitals 2009-2010 ongoing thread
I'm just disappointed to see Ovy lose out to Henrik Sedin for most points and now that he didn't have a goal Stamkos and Crosby both have an opportunity to pass him to win the goal scoring title outright. But I look on the bright side, I'd rather win the Cup than see Ovy get all his individual stats and I'm sure he feels the same way.

Re: Washington Capitals 2009-2010 ongoing thread
So the Caps finished the regular season with 121 points. Thats the most points franchise history. They won the presidents trophy, and have multiple players in top stat rankings.
They're going to be playing the Montreal Canadians in the first round of the playoffs. Montreal is a tough team, but we're going to beat them. At this point I will be disappointed with anything less than a Stanley Cup. We're unarguably the best team in the NHL and I'm going to expect nothing less than the world championship. Agreed?

Re: Washington Capitals 2009-2010 ongoing thread
I just read that Backstrom is listed as probable for game 1. I hope he's okay. I don't even remember when he could have tweaked something.
Anyone else have any news on this?

Re: Washington Capitals 2009-2010 ongoing thread
Not that it matters how the fans approach a playoff series but I wouldn't totally overlook the Canadians. They did play us tough during the season. I still think we win but it might take 5 or 6 games.

My boy Mathieu Perreault also got food poisoning earlier in the year. Caps need to start being more careful about where they eat.
