Shit, sounds good to me, lets take the smaller more athletic one for our RT, and give them JC and our 5th.

Actually, I think that is a knee jerk post on my account. Lets go with acquiring more picks, and let Shanny and Allen pick out their type of talent, not someone elses year old mediocre picks.

Works for me. Let's get the ball rolling on that

I like the trade I guess, but I just have this feeling that Campbell could have put up some very nice numbers under Shanahan's tutelage.
I think Campbell is a solid, respectable QB but it says something to me when Shanahan, who thinks he could win a Super Bowl with you at QB, didn't feel Campbell was the right guy for him.

I'm not ready to judge this move yet, but I am glad our QB situation for at least 2010 has been settled. Even had we drafted someone like Clausen there still would have been a question of will he start right away or will Grossman start the season? And Campbell, whether fans wanted it or not, was not going to be the QB here. We finally have some closure on the seemingly never-ending who will be our QB question.

Come on don't look at me like that. You knew it was coming.

On a side note if one more douche bag drives by my apartment with their system on full blast I'm going to slash some tires. Ok, not really but I should.

What if it was McNabb rolling through your neighborhood looking at houses for sale? That wouldn't be a very good welcome wagon would it???

In the long run we get no OL cause when it's time for us to pick we don't like the value. Just fill our needs and stop with the BPA BS.
Exactly. I just don't see the horror that others do in picking what you need. Especially after the first round when the talent starts to level out and it's basically hit or miss.

With the BPA strategy, you theoretically could go round after round ignoring obvious needs -- like Vinny did for years with the O-line.

I doubt McNabb needs to overcompensate with a crappy stereo system thats all bass and no trebble. But why, is McNabb looking for a place in Kennesaw? Alpharetta/Johns Creek seems to be more in his price range.

Quote:
Alpharetta is a city in north Fulton County, Georgia, United States. It is one of the most affluent communities in the state. According to a 2008 estimate, Alpharetta's population is 49,903.
We actually have a handful of former and current NFL stars and various celebrities living there. Dieon Sanders use to live in my parents neighborhood with a football shaped pool in the back yard. I also think John Smoltz and Jeff Foxworthy liive in the area as does Jessie Tuggle and David Whitehurst. Heck my high school position coach played against the Redskins in the 87 Super Bowl.

But as far as the stereos go. It's like someone pinching you. They do once you're like "whatever." They do 500 times your like "all right, please stop."

I believe we traded a 1st and 2nd and 3rd rounder for Brad Johnson in 1999.

We used a 1st and 3rd and 4th for Jason Campbell.

Matt Cassel cost a 2nd rounder and who knows how good he actually is.

It almost seems like McNabb came at a bargain.
Well said. If we get a third or fourth pick for JC, that will in a sense cancel next year's pick that we sent to Philly. In this case, we upgraded at QB to Donovan McNabb for just a net second round pick. This is indeed a bargain. How often do you acquire a multi-Pro Bowler, within the division no less, for just a second?

Couldn't tell you. I live in Richmond. It probably wouldn't be his own vehicle anyway. Someone linked a video of him coming in and being hauled around in a stretch limo. That probably would have all bass and no trebble. He won't get his whips down here for a bit until things get settled I imagine. I'm sure he'll be staying somewhere fancy like the motel 6 or super 8 until he finds a place.... lol

I think that's what I'm happiest about. Not that it's McNabb per se, just the fact that we have a high level starting QB in the fold finally.

Ha ha, please. He can at least afford to indulge and go to Ecno Lodge. You know they serve a business breakfast. Which you'd think McNabb would like, but then you see him train shirtless and you're like "what the hell I thought he was fat?"

JC is on the hospital bed yelling "I'm STILL HERE!", "who are you again" "CAMPBELL, JASON CAMPBELL!"

I just like being able to commit to the Okung crowd. Before I would be thinking first round QB one day and then first round tackle, second round QB the next. If I was feeling Randy it would be two tackles.

That's it? ... Actually, that's probably exactly right.

How 'bout if we switched places in the first round with any of the teams in the 6-10 range,(Seattle, Cleveland, Oakland, Buffalo, or Jax) and threw in Campbell -- might that be enough to sneak up to a 2nd or 3rd round pick?
