NCAA exposes loophole with Cam Newton eligibility ruling - ESPN

Once again the NCAA shows their the worst governing body in all of sport...Selig trys hard to be number one, but he always gets out done by these guys. What a bunch of horsesh*t. Apparently you can at least attempt to sell your sons in their world.

I'll second that. He sounds like a punk who was in on it, but from the way the story goes I think his dad set it up so that if he was caught Cam Newton wouldn't get punished for it.

Anywayzzzz VT ACC Champs again baby! I'll be the first to say I thought we were done when we lost to a FCS school (JMU) for the first time but this school bounced back in a major way and now we're on our way to another Orange Bowl berth. I've heard reports we'll be going up against either WV or Stanford, and if that's the case I'd def. rather go up against Stanford, because I don't think WV is that much of a challenge. The Big East is a pretty weak conference and Stanford has been ballin' all season. Give me the bigger challenge, especially for this great VT team that's won 11 in a row.

Va Tech got lucky that Ponder couldn't play for FSU. Woulda made that game a lot better to watch.

Cam Newton is absolutely outstanding. It'll be interesting to see what kind of pro he'll be.

This national title game is going to be a treat to watch.

I disagree. I believe that the young guy gave them a better chance to win. I've watched Ponder the last three weeks leading up to this game and he would have been worse off. Obviously the FSU coaching staff agreed with me by not starting him.

GM, it just seems like you cannot stop hatin on VA Tech. I gave it up for Florida the past few years. Face it, VA Tech wins year in and year out and this year they beat an FSU team that beat the pants off of Florida.

First of all, full disclosure, Florida had an awful year. They're in rebuilding mode for sure. I think they can win the SEC East next year, but they won't be a title contender again until 2012 given how young they are on both sides of the ball.

Ponder has had elbow problems during the second half of the season, and just had it drained a few days before the game. Manuel gave them a better chance to win this week because Ponder couldn't throw without excruciating pain.

Since the James Madison loss, Va Tech has played really, really well. I don't hate them at all. But I think the ACC (and Big East) sucks something awful this year, so that plays a big part of their success. Va Tech wins year in and year out, sure. But they just can't seem to sniff the big one, despite being talked about pretty much perennially as a title contender. That was my only point. Not hating.

They're most likely gonna play Stanford in the Orange Bowl. That will be a nice game.

Still woulda been the same result. Tech got way to much for FSU. EJ Manuel is gonna be the best QB in Florida for awhile.

Which is why he's been on the bench behind Ponder. LOL. You should stick to the pros. Clearly you don't know a whole lot about the "amateur" game.

You haven't even heard of Jeff Driskel, have you?

WV is not going to be in the BCS. UCONN will.

Yeah, just heard that UConn won and split the Big East with WV, but UConn won the automatic BCS bowl bid for the Big East, so I think it's gonna be VT-Stanford for the Orange Bowl. I knew that WV won but not UConn until a few minutes ago, and I knew that WV was dependant on UConn losing to win the Big East outright and getting that automatic bid.

So it's down to UConn or Stanford against VT in the Orange Bowl, and no disrespect to UConn which has won 5 straight, but I'd rather see Stanford. UConn has a severely one-dimensional offensive attack and I'd just like the stiffer competition to see if VT can proudly represent the ACC in the BCS.

unfortunatly i have to agree with you, as a big east fan and wvu fan it's gonna suck to watch uconn get blown the f out by whomever they play. like i said before hopefully stewart is gone and wvu will get a legit ncaa coach. they have a ton of talent they just don't always show it on gameday. wvu had the big east locked up and they shit the bed as they have the past few years, kinda reminds me of a nfl team i root for. with the addition of tcu next year hopefully they will add some vadlidation to the big least

as for cam, i was half joking when i said we should draft him and halfway gone, last night was a good one, but he does have that "it" factor that you can't coach or teach. i don't understand why you would veiw him as a punk, if anything he has learned from his mistakes and is moving forward. he had some mistakes at fla but we all make mistakes in our life espescially when we are 18. he isn't running his mouth or trash talking all he does is let his play speak for itself and how can you watch the kid play and not root for him. he just looks like he is playing backyard ball out there and having a blast doing it. it's gonna be very interestign to see where he ends up in the nfl and like gm said the championship game is gonna be a real treat. it has all the making to be usc vs texas part two, and that game was probably one if the best college games i have ever seen.

SEC West had their way this year, East was down for sure. Either way, your Boise State love affair got shit on, and when Auburn puts it on Oregon, it will be yet another year where the national title resides in college football's best, most physical, athletic conference. Hands down.

I don't know how to feel about Va Tech. Somedays they make you say "What the f*ck is this sh*t?" then other days it s like where was this when you were playing BSU and JMU? But I give it up for them not bending over after the loss to JMU.
