Oh well I guess that's his job now. As a beat writer his job was mainly just to relay facts and rumors. As a columnist however he's probably expected to put a little more emotion into his pieces.
Reid has little hands....makes me nervous.

The Junkies talked about this today and said they had it confirmed by several people. They did say though that it was still a rumor though unless McNabb or Shanahan confirm the incident.

Not only would McNabb not wear the wristband saying that it would ruin his "image", at the SB the topic came up at a dinner with DS, MS, Allen, and McNabbs manager. Supposedly DS didn't know about the wrist band issue and started admonishing MS for not forcing McNabb to wear the wrist band and even went on to say that if McNabb stays Shanahan better have McNabb wearing a wrist band. The whole time Allen and McNabbs agent sat there stunned. lol.

LOL, a guy with hardass rep like Shanahan being chewed out for not forcing his player to do something. Inconceivable(so says Vizzini).

Maybe Shanahan isn't such a hardcore drill sargent after all. Well, he did have a relatively "light" training camp too.

That said, it's really pretty selfish to sacrifice your team's performance just to avoid wounded pride.

No apparently because McNabb wouldn't wear the wrist band MS decided to simply throw plays at McNabb and let McNabb make himself look foolish, which led to the benching. McNabb proved MS right that he didn't know the offense completely and got himself benched.

All because of "image". God forbid fans see you looking at a wrist band like Tom Brady or half a dozen other SB winning QB's.

All Redskin QB's are required to wear wristbands

Wait hold on maybe it was because he wasn't new to the system

No....huh. Well Beck, Beck most certainly wore one when he came here.

Hmmmm. Well Kyle probably forced Schuab to wear one.

Some folks may have to reconsider whether McNabb truly is a team player, or more concerned about himself.

Hopefully, he wrecks the Vikes next year with this insecurity of his. We need them to be on the losing end of another trade.

Good points DirtBag59 but none of those QB's were in the same system for over 10yrs old habits are hard to break a wrist band might of helped DMc.

I feel it's more a story out of nothing and it worked. Look how much talk it's generating. I think the real issue they had with McNabb was his refusal to retool on his footwork, not on his decision not to wear a wristband, which I think hasn't been worn by a Shanahan QB since Plummer. Cutler might have worn one to but in the pics I've seen of him in Denver most of them show him without a wrist band.

Still i don't get the dislike of McNabb the person. McNabb the QB? Fire away, but McNabb is one of the classier guys in the league that becomes bombarded with nonconstructive criticism. For God's sake look no further then the Benard Hopkins comment.

McNabb has a communications degree, so he's probably pretty damn good at pushing the buttons of his audience, and the foolish public eats up his stuff like children eating candy.

I don't get why people get their panties in a bunch about this. Did McNabb have some part in the mess that was last offseason? Of course. But he wasn't alone. Personally, I don't think he should've been brought here at all.

Re: Skinsfaninok's Available NFL QBs Poll

I doubt the wrist band was the sole reason McNoodle was benched.

Also, would everyone please stop referencing what the Skins did last year with a typical MS offensive scheme. The closest I could see the offense even remotely resembling MS's scheme was in the run game on only the 2 or 3 runs that actually made it past the line of scrimage because the OL actually did their jobs.

I'd say almost 90% of the scheme was more KS's offensive scheme, similar to Houstons. Now if you want to go look at the history of KS and if any of the QB's wore wrist bands then fine. Maybe none of his QB's did either, but it wouldn't have killed him to wear a wrist band.
