S/N I agree with your points.
Seeing RG3 play through injury like that just reminds me of when Phillip Rivers played with a torn ACL in the 2008 AFC Championship game, and he and the coach were lauded as "gutsy", playing through injury.

All players play "hurt". It's another thing entirely to play "injured".

And FYI, I am here every day. I don't post as much as I used to, but I still come here and read a lot.

Re: Seahawks 24 Skins 14 post game thread

The day after a loss is so much easier than the 1st hour after a loss.

5 Points about yesterday's game/this season:

1. I think Griffin should have been pulled at halftime, he was clearly hurt and clearly ineffective. He just couldnt drive his legs into his throws and thats why they kept sailing high.

2. RGIII has a huge ego, and he should, he is a gun slinger, all the great ones want to be in the game and think they can make any play necessary. Coaches/doctors will always have to be in charge of pulling players, players aren't gonna pull themselves.

3. Drafting Kirk Cousins is looking more and more like a great draft pick by the day. We can end all the trade talk, we need to have him on this roster. I have full faith in him that even if RGIII has to miss any time at the beginning of next year that Cousins can step in and lead us to victories.

4. We swept the Cowboys and won the NFC East.

5. Assuming RGIII comes back 100% healthy, even if its a few games into the season when he is cleared, and we have a good of-season this year, next season will be just as fun as this season ended up being and possibly better. And I REALLY HOPE we play Seattle again in the playoffs! They are beginning our white whale lol, we just haven't been able to beat them. But their time is coming. Hail!!!

Tough loss yesterday. Part of me is glad though, now we can finally rest RG and get him back to 100% for next year.

Not gonna get involved in all the Shanny second guessing, I think the rule should be simple - if RG has to wear a knee brace he shouldn't play. He hates that damn brace anyways. I'm more scared when he's wearing it.

Also I hate the Seahawks. Sherman is a douchebag. But they played better than us yesterday, they deserved to win.

Thanks for a phenomenal season, one of the best ever.

GO SKINS!

Agree with everything in this post. I'm going to try to make this my last frustrating post about the game and move on. I wanted to beat Seattle badly. I thought we would beat Seattle and it sure as hell looked like we were on our way to doing exactly that. I think KC has proved his ability and value to this team. Starting in the second quarter I started telling a buddy of mine that RG3 didn't look right at all and KC should be put in the game. Sometime in the 3rd quarter I started yelling that opinion at Shanahan through the T.V. By the 4th quarter I had completely lost it over the fact that if it was completely obvious to me that RG3 was totally ineffective, then why in the hell couldn't Mike see it. Other than convincing my BF's wife that I'm a complete lunatic my rants of course were all for nought. What I'm getting at is this. If KC would have been put in the game and we still loss I would have hated it but.....it would have, been a lot easier to take. You put it up to Griffin being hurt and the second string QB who completed one victory for us and led us to 38 points and a victory in his only start..just didn't get it done but with RG3 hurt it was the best option we had. I can deal with that. But leaving an injured ineffective starter in the game while Captain Kirk sits on the sidelines after the way he's performed this year, well it just leaves you with the feeling we coulda won the game but lost because of, imo, a really bad decision. And that's just a little harder to take. Looking forward to next year and feeling good about being a Redskins fan again. HAIL!

Re: Seahawks 24 Skins 14 post game thread

By the way, props to Sav Rocca. I thought he had a very good game yesterday and pinned back the Seahawks a number of times. He had a very solid season. Our kicking game in general seems very solid.

Also, props to Reed Doughty for a strong game -- one of his best. And a number of others played well too -- I thought LeRibeus looked pretty good in relief for 'Stiger.

We're all disappointed, and the Seahawks are utterly obnoxious -- I really hope they get pounded soon and by us next year in the playoffs. Their CBs are some of the dirtiest players I have ever seen, and not that this is why we lost, but the refs had no control. It seems like every play our WRs were getting hit, pushed, cheap shots, and other crap, and it never got called. At the late hit on RGIII after the second TD pass was so incredibly cheap -- I thought it might have led to an ejection. It was a solid 4 seconds after the play was over. Furious.

In any event, next year, we need to take care of business throughout the season, and then we need to pay these jerks back in a major way in the playoffs. To be sure, Seattle is a strong team and they outplayed us, period. But they were easily the dirtiest team I can recall in recent memory.

He was awesome. Had we won he would have been game ball material for sure.

Re: Seahawks 24 Skins 14 post game thread

I know my opinion is extremely biased, but I hate how sports talking heads blow things out of proportion. Matt Williamson, who I really like as a writer, just said that Seattle was the better team blah blah blah? Really? A better team blows Washington out of the water with a one-legged QB. A lot of people, especially him, talked about how terrible our defense was and how Seattle's was much better. Seattle scored 24 straight points, but did not take the lead until 7 mins left in game.

Seattle may have been a good team, but they sure didn't play like one yesterday. And after seeing Seattle get by a one-legged QB team, Atlanta must like their chances.
