Agree on the talking about it portion. I will disagree about about us winning/losing/wash on the trade. The moment the trade is made is when the teams win/lose. If both teams get equal value, it's a wash. If one gets the best value, it's a win for them. Who the players pan out to be is irrelevant really. Personally, I just think Jeff Fisher is a shitty coach and has loads of talent on that team. (from that trade)

Rumor mills say that as early as 2014, Shanahan saw that RG3 was physically a shell of his former self, and internally pushed for Kirk Cousins to be the starter, but he was rebuffed and it took a legit injury to RG3 for Shanahan to attempt to make his move. Unfortunately the team was in disarray and Cousins could not make the most of the opportunity. I am told that it is true indeed that Shanahan considered resigning at the end of the season due in part to the treatment of RG3 by ownership and what MS perceived as "coddling" towards RG3. Its obvious that Shanahan was right in hindsight, which is partially why there is now interest in him once again as an NFL Head Coach. The biggest question on my mind is how Dan Snyder feels about Kirk Cousins. We know Scott Mc is a big cousins fan, as is the coaches and the players. If Cousins can truly get embraced by Snyder, then i think Cousins fans have nothing to worry about.

Re: First place Redskins
I think it was Smootsmack who said Snyder pretty much couldn't stand cousins and wanted him gone. I gotta believe that cousins was a little bit of scapegoat because rg3 couldn't take that next step. I'm sure things change, but once again Snyder was wrong.

Re: First place Redskins
He should just sign checks and ask questions. He has already proven that he is not capable of putting a consistent winning product on the field. I honestly believe he has done that since the RG3 trade. I think that was his last major decision which obviously was an epic fail.

Re: First place Redskins
I think you've got more mixed up than that. Gruden didn't want to start RG3 in 2014. He finally got his wish this year with the help of McCloughan on his side. I don't think there's anything to be concerned about now with Cousins. He's going to be here a while. RG3 will be gone soon enough. |
