Re: Sua Cravens
I didn’t have a big problem with the Compton video. Everyone has different motivations for playing the game. Plenty of guys do just play for the paycheck, nothing wrong with that as long as you show up every day and do your job like a professional. Ultimately the issue with Cravens is he quit on his teammates right before the season, some guys will never forgive or forget that. He had to go, guys couldn’t trust him.

That said, in all walks of life those with a passion for their work tend to have better results and almost certainly foster a more conducive team environment for success. That's why they look for "football players," right? Have you ever worked with someone who talks about coming to work like that? I think most people have, and in my experience, it drains the enthusiasm of everyone around them. Them calling out a lot or taking a long unexpected LOA certainly magnifies the problem. Now, I and probably everyone else including Will Compton and all the other guys on the team have moments feeling like this or may make a passing comment like, "TGIF," or "will this week ever end?" But there is a huge difference between that and a full blown tense conversation about not having motivation for your work with a coworker in front of everyone that is supposed to trust and rely on you. The leave of absence was icing on the cake, but to me any guy that would talk like this about their work is someone I would let go. It's inexcusable, you have that conversation behind closed doors if you need help. Don't drag others around you down. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk

Re: Sua Cravens
Football is like anything else in life, if you lose or have lost the passion for it, you will probably never gain it back.

That's why I completely understand why the Redskins could never accept him back to the locker room. They'll all say they could accept him, publicly. But in reality, that's not the culture you want. It's amazing, with that Compton video out there, that anybody would ever want Su'a on their team. I can't believe Elway gave up what he did.

Re: Sua Cravens
That shit isn't a fit in any locker room. What a nut job.

Re: Sua Cravens
Time to close this bozo's thread. He is now a part of general NFL discussion. Happy with the trade and won't miss him. Can't miss something that didn't really exist.

Re: Sua Cravens
Interesting article of what went down, no surprise Bruce Allen had something to do with getting rid of Cravens.

Re: Sua Cravens
I just read that entire piece. It was well done, and I admire how the author respected Cravens enough to keep the incident with his family a secret.
I still come away blaming Cravens, not the front office or the team. In football, culture is extremely important. I would want my team to be accountable to each other and responsible enough and mature enough to handle their business and communicate better than Su'a communicated. As you read through this long piece, it's clear Su'a feels like he didn't have a good feel for what was expected of him, and clearly never went through the effort to make sure his position was properly communicated. I can't have that in my locker room. Guys have to be able to handle their injuries and do not just what's expected, but do everything humanly possible to get back on the field. Su'a didn't - he constantly played the victim. There are no victims on championship teams, only players that make things happen. You don't see any players who sit back and wait for things to happen to them. Make hay or get out the way.

Re: Sua Cravens
Good read SF, thanks for sharing. It's hard to feel sympathetic towards Cravens when it appears he just got into his feelings a little too much. How much post-concussion syndrome had to do with that IDK, but I don't blame his ex-teammates for not wanting him back. When it went down we knew that was the most likely outcome. We've moved on and I'm sure he has too. And if Tim Settle turns into a good contributor (looking good so far) I won't care how he does in Denver.

Re: Sua Cravens
FYI, He hasnt practiced in Denver. He is dealing with a knee injury, probably a scrape that needs 3 months to heal.
