I would have have tapped out at a 1st, 3rd and Goff. Think about how Goff must feel. For what they gave away to get Stafford, they must think of his worth as a moldy ham sandwich.

If the Rams gave the equivalent to what I would expect for Deshaun Watson. if Watson traded, is going to take 4 #1 plus more. Ridiculous!!

Looks like the Rams gave Detroit one 1st rounder for Stafford and another 1st rounder to get rid of Goff and his contract.

This shit is getting crazy, Goff isn't even a terrible quarterback. At worst he's average.

Also somebody needs to change the thread title, Stafford ain't available no more.

I'm guessing after Watson gets traded for somebody's next 5 first round picks Ron is going to settle for some other team's retreads. There is no player in the league worth potentially setting your team back multiple seasons.

People need to realize that one of those first rounders was compensation for Detroit to take on Goff and his contract.

Good call. McVay's star is losing some luster when he's making moves like this. Still, I admire his confidence in building a team without first round picks. He's not lacking in confidence.

I'm not saying it is a good trade. Just that everyone seems to think Stafford is worth two first rounders. He's not.

After reading more, you are right but that just essentially states just how mismanaged the Rams are...

Rams will still have to eat 22 million in dead cap this year do to Goff, which affects cap. And I’m not sure but believe any remaining prorated signing bonus that was spread out over the deal will be accelerated into next year...again affecting their cap.

Why they signed Goff to a mega deal is gross mismanagement and then to have to trade him away giving up a first rounder...makes bill O’Brien look genius. It’s the Mount Rushmore of mega mistakes by an org.

but the rams have stayed a contender and will probably be one next year. if they get better qb play they are no doubt a favorite to come out of the NFC. yeah they have made mistakes but they haven't bottomed out like the texans.

Again, Stafford is not worth 2 first rounders.

A short term win now trade. The only team out west with a defense and a QB are the Rams
