Ehhh…I think it’s important for new QB to show some gelling in camp.

Fitz missed a couple TD throws last name and nearly threw a red zone int to Humpy as well.

We still got time to get in together no doubt and we know media grift.

Hey…where in the fuck is Samuels? Is he still injured or covid restricted? He’s needs to get on the field now

Samuels is off of the COVID list and off of the PUP list. They are working him in slowly as he already knows the system and they don't want to rush him back and risk re-injuring himself. Probably won't see him til wk1

That puzzled me more than anything to be honest. With all the talk about how familiar they are with each other and all the work they have gotten together so far in this offense, for them to be on a completely different page, not once but twice, on seemingly the same route is perplexing. Should have resulted in two interceptions.

Rewatching the first half, one thing I hadn't noticed is how well Saahdiq Charles played at RT, maybe he can be a very good back up swing tackle.

Gives them the chance to go with 9 OL, and get 4 RB as a result. I would hope Charles and Cosmi are the long term future at OT for WFT

Cosmi seems to be way more NFL ready from day 1 than Charles, but the later looks like he's making some strides, so one can hope !

Charles becoming a Morgan Moses would be great. Cosmi and Charles both have shorter arms so they dont fit the ideal LT mold but I dont think short arms are an absolute stop sign to playing LT at a high level.

weve invested in the OL through draft. be great if some of these guys start panning out. Cosmi should be a lock as a starter. be great if one of Charles/ismael/martin turned into a tenured starter.

2021 2R Cosmi
2020 4R Charles
5R Ismael
2019 4R Martin
5R Pierschbacher
2018 3R Christian

Re: WFT 2021 Pre-Season Games Thread

Injuries are cropping up around the league. I don't want any one that is a starter or still in the running to be a starter to play Saturday.

Get thru this week healthy, and c'mon week 1.

I would be completely fine if none of the defensive starters play. Come to think of it, I'd be fine if some key offensive starters would sit too (Terry, AG, Fitzy, Logan).

I wouldn't mind the offense getting a couple series against Baltimore, along with other key guys who need reps - like J Davis for example. I don't think you can be afraid of injuries, as much as you can be concerned about being unprepared for the opener.

It's true, someone could get hurt, but someone could get hurt week 1 too...that's the game.

This. I am also interested to see if there is a noticeable difference thru the first 4 weeks in teams that played starters during preseason and those that don't.

And there is no better contrast for that then us vs the Chargers week 1. I can't believe that a new head coach with a new OC and a rebuilt Oline didn't feel the need to put their first team offense out for any reps. I don't believe they are this week either.

Agreed.
There's some sort of balance to be found, but it's a team sport, you need to take reps to build chemistry. And you can get injured in practice too.

Re: WFT 2021 Pre-Season Games Thread

Well from one perspective, Bill Belichick, Andy Reid and Ron Rivera are/have been playing their starters. A pretty huge amount of experience there, though admittedly they could all be described as old school. All have changes to their offense that require reps.
As CRed said it will be interesting the see the difference, a potentially 2-3 game head start on what is only a 17 game season. Also with the injury rate. How many of the guys who are held out of pre-season are going to go down when they are suddenly faced with the pace and power of a real game without any build up.
