i'd take favre over them any day.if i had a team with favre, art monk, john riggins, the hogs and lawrence taylor,i'd win 90% of the games i played.
So all you need to win games is 1 qb, 1 wr, 1 rb, an oline, and 1 lb????
Cause in this day and age, if you had all those players, there would be no room to sign valuable players at the other positions.

Young had 275 tds, and only 107 ints (can't find the fumbles lost stat, but I can find his fumbles stat, and his fumbles recovered stats. He had only 68 fumbles and recovered 19 meaning his fumble ratio was 49) So that's 275 total tds to (possibly) 156 turnovers. 96.8 qb rating.

Favre had 455 tds, and 288 ints (also had 147 fumbles and 38 recovered fumbles, meaning his fumble ratio was 109) So that's 455 total tds to (possibly) 397 turnovers. 85.7 qb rating.

Most experts will tell you that td to turnover ratio is an extremely important stat. Favre has a +167 ratio while Young has a +165 ratio...however, that does not include fumbles lost, nor does it factor in the fact that Young played in fewer games meaning his ratio per game is MUCH better than Favre's.
Considering that Favre had well over double the fumbles that Young had, Young easily has a better ratio.
If you count the stats I provided Favre's td to turnover ratio is 58, while Young's was 119. A hair over twice as good.

Throw in the dominant qb rating that Young has over Favre, and I'd easily take Young over favre.

This is not taking anything away from Favre...I do think he's a top 5, possibly top 3 qb all time, but to say Young was overrated...or Marino or Montana was overrated is lunacy.

ps- Joe Namath is the most overrated qb in history.

Damn, Aaron Rogers went 7-20 in the scrimmage vs. their defense. Not good.

Re: Favre seeks release from Packers (updated)

So does anyone else think its bs that they are letting Favre come back and compete for the starting job? We had to sit through all that, and then in the end Favre gets his wish? And who truly believes that Aaron Rodgers will actually win the competition against Favre?

They are lying if they said they are holding an open competition. If the Packers are truly open to letting Favre compete, then there is no reason to even have a competition. There is no way in hell Aaron Rodgers beats Favre in an open competition. There are probably only 3 or 4 QBs in the league that could even challenge Favre in that competition. The man was #2 in MVP voting last year for crying out loud!

As for Favre returning to Green Bay, that could be for one of several reasons:

1.) They really are going to allow Favre back to camp

2.) They are going to try and work out a trade

3.) They are going to try and finalize the deal where they pay him to stay retired

I think the Packers need him. And come on Aaron Rodgers had a horrible scrimmage. With Rodgers they go nowhere, with Favre they can do something.

I think Farve should take up this option. He'd be the first player to ever be paid not to play. That would be a stat I would like to have.

Who could say that they paid not to play football?

That's where you are wrong. He should not take up this option because it would be against what he played for. He didn't play for the money. He played for the love of the game. So he would be changing his mind about what he played for. Not a very good idea.
