As for raising taxes on big business, why not reduce their taxes? According to you they'd do a lot better with more money in their pockets. What's a fair cutoff line? Why not move their tax bar down to 0%?
Sounds good to me. No corporate taxes would make U.S. business far more competitive in the global economy (creating jobs) and bring foreign businesses here (creating jobs). FairTax anyone?

Re: Update: McCain Selects Gov. Sarah Palin as Running Mate

Just saw this on Fox's website. Some of the Conn. GOP delegates were attacked by a mob of protestors that was physically assualting, spitting, and throwing bleach at them.

Real nice stuff from the anti-war, radical, left-wing crowd who supports everyone's voice being heard (as long as it agrees with them) and is against violence (but violence is OK against the "old people" in the GOP).

P.S. I didn't hear about any of the Democrat delegates being attacked by the "bible-thumpers" or oil company cronies at the coronation last week.

wackos on the far left/far right should be ignored. They don't represent their respective sides at all.

While at lunch they showed a police officer getting attacked on the streets as other protesters watched. Luckly it did not esculate into more and the officer got away before things turned ugly. I wonder who they will be voting for. Change, no more use of pepper spray while protecting yourself from protesters.

So are we talking "trickle down" economics?

Yes and no. In a true trickle-down, or supply-side economic system, you would only want to reduce taxes on the rich based on the theory that giving the rich more money would cause them to invest more, spurring growth in American business.

So Obama's proposed increase in taxes would hurt American business growth in this manner.

But neither Obama nor McCain are suggesting that middle class or the poor should have the Bush tax cuts revoked. Both suggest that they should not pay more, and Obama even suggests they pay less. So neither is championing a true Supply-Side economic theory.

But here are some works provided by some of the greatest economic minds in history, explaining and supporting a trickle-down approach:

The Wealth of Nations - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia - Adam Smith

schneed, back in 2000, our president promised a balanced budget, without raising taxes. have we ever had a president that didnt raise taxes. and Mr McCain still wants the tax breaks for the big players in the economy, regardless. the oil companies, who routinely make record profit. and the production outfits, that continually ship American jobs over seas. and McCain talks about pork barrel spending, but how does his record speak? this administration has blatant disregard for spending, and McCain votes right along party lines over 90% of the time. how much of a maverick is he, really? he voted for the tax cuts, now he opposes them? is that what we dems call a flip flop?

Re: Update: McCain Selects Gov. Sarah Palin as Running Mate

The claim is true. According to Congressional Quarterly's Voting Studies, in 2007 McCain voted in line with the president's position 95 percent of the time – the highest percentage rate for McCain since Bush took office – and voted in line with his party 90 percent of the time. However, McCain's support of President Bush's position has been as low as 77 percent (in 2005), and his support for his party's position has been as low as 67 percent (2001).

This is a paragraph from your link.

The 95% of the time is in 2007 and its not the entire time Bush has been in office as we are lead to believe.

Not the entire time, just recently as he moved closer to being a Presidential candidate. Coincidence? Why the dramatic rise from as recently as 2005?

As for arugula, it's a type of salad leaf consumed by ballers and elitist.
