How is there a blame game? BP is responsible, jesus christ isnt their oil been gushing out destroying wildlife, the environment, people's way of life for 3 weeks now? There is more on evidence coming out each week that this piece of sh8t company cut corners and safety regs to save a dollar and ended up killing their own employees...this is a garbage company, people should seriously think to boycott any BP logos and after this incredible bullsh8t event is over, Id say we bring charges and consider jailtime for the responsible parties....since this began, BP response to get this under control has been unacceptable and pathetic...

Exactly, the notion that this is anyone's fault except BP is plain old stupid.

I have allready said its all on BP. I'm talking about the non response from our goverment and their lack of doing anything. That was a poorly worded sentence,

Firstdown, what CAN the government do that they haven't already done? I mean, specifically...

And since I know when you say government, you really mean Obama. So he's making his second visit to the region to get a firsthand account of the damage. Not that he really needs to, but this is to simply appease his critics.

But what would you like to see him DO to alleviate this disaster?

He's being cynical, this is not Katrina. Katrina was not a mile deep under water. Helicopters could have picked people up, but didn't. When they looking for criminals all I see is helicopters, so they have them, we all know this to be true. Plus, they didn't prosecute the people who were murdering people trying to walk out of New Orleans. Residents of the parishees surrounding N.O. killed alot of the missing. But, once again. It aint what you know it's what you can prove.

Well we have a bunch of engineers, scientist, contractors, etc... on the federal pay roll now so lets take the best of them and let them figure this thing out. Maybe they can't help but the more brain power we have thinking of a solution then the quicker we will stop this leak. I mean we can send a guy into space so lets get some of those brains working on this problem.

How about Obama asking for people in this field to gather to do some brain storming to try and help BP figure this out. Just flying over the oil spill once a month does nothing.

The Departement of Energy head is a super brain and he is working on it. There are limits to technology. We don't have the capability to put a man on the bottom of that ocean, but we can put a man on the moon, or they say we can.

I guess Obama uses your "I Give UP" thoughts on this same issue.

Everyboddy gave up, the only thing will stop it is the relief well, which should have been created when the well was created. In Canada they dig two wells just in case something goes wrong 1 mile below the ocean. This si nothing new. They know it's gonna be bad they just can't afford to have people looking at the gusher cam and them saying wait for the relief well. In reality everyone gave up, they asked Bill Nye the science guy for ideas yesterday. OMG

Re: Guard watches coast for oil slick's first wave

well it looks like Top Kill has been approved. I've been following official twitters from the US coast guard, and other people in charge of the disaster. And this isn't a joke, these twitters are official and the news is starting to pick up on it now.

They are supposed to announce it any minute now, but basically BP has been given the greenlight on every aspect...they should start today....

Which is worse: misinformation, lack of information, or cynical conspiracy theories. Simply look through this thread to find examples of all three, and they all get pretty old after 100 or so posts.

(although personally I like cynical conspiracy theories so I think that what happened is the fbi helped the aliens from area 51 escape in order to divert attention from upcoming freedom of information act releases on JFK's shooting. Unfortunately the aliens dug a tunnel out which came up and broke the pipe. Of course we all know area 51 is also where they filmed the moon landing. I'll tell you more after the black cars outside my work leave

Re: Guard watches coast for oil slick's first wave

The video is showing the ROV checking different areas that constantly have to be monitored, like the Blow out preventer, and some of the riser lines. If they see any sign of trouble, like pipes cracking or anything, they will have to stop the procedure.

Trust me guys i'm up on this, my vacation that is already paid for literally depends on it...By morning we should see the first signs of success, or failure....

I'm not an engineer, but the flow a few minutes ago definatley seemed reduced from what i watched earlier this morning....
