Re: Redskins vs. Ravens, Pre-Season Game 2, Gameday Thread

All this does is bring some folks down to earth. The crushing of the Bills obviously didn't mean a damn thing, as it shouldn't since it is preseason. The starting D was solid and the run D did pretty well for the most part. We also are getting some answers about our RB situation, meaning LJ is pretty much a goner. Would have liked to see Williams or Torain in a bit against the starters to really gauge LJ, but that will be for the next two preseason games. Nice to see Armstrong do nicely. He will be a good replacement for Kelly. I am not worried, yet anyway, as we still have 3 weeks of peseason left to get things ironed out.

Just heard Kareem Moore has a sprained MCL. Judging by the look on his face when he was walking off the field, that's good news.

I wonder how many of you who are saying "preseason means nothing" were saying that last weekend when we scored 42 points. And would you be saying that tonight if we were on the winning end of a 23-3 game? During the preseason it's a convenient stance to take when you look like crap.

Me? I'm glad we took one on the chin. The preseason is all about learning what kind of team you've got from the top of the roster to the bottom. A gut check that means nothing come week 1 can't be all that bad. Now coaches will have some shitty film to bust balls over on Monday morning. Use it as a learning tool and move on.

TOTALLY, nothing could be worse than another Spurrier pre-season...
Much to go to school on tonight

I was with the grain of salt crowd. I was thrilled that we did so well but at the same time I realized that

A) We were playing the Bills
and
B) It's Preseason

I will admit to saying that we looked very prepared for football last week. This week we got our asses handed to us. If you look at the game though it was really 1 special teams play that separated us from the Ravens in the first half.

Yeagh our pass pro was shakey but the Ravens Blitz packages were something that the Bills couldn't provide. We got some good work tonight.

The 3rd game as you know we will actually game plan for and will give us a better indication of where we are. I was comfortable last week but not over confident. I am not worried after tonight. Ask me after the 3rd quarter next week and I will let you know if I think the sky is falling or not.

As of right now I think that we are a solid football team that has a few things to work out. We'll be fine.

Romo isn't looking so great either, especially with that banged up line. Not much of a running game either. IF we can't beat these guys Sept 12 we are in a load of hurt.

Wow Chase Daniel had a 146 QB rating tonight. We really messed up by cutting him and not Brennan. Not sure Shanny would have kept him, but he was better than Brennan.

A good team with ever dwindling depth and a shoddy looking O line. They haven't looked good at all. Sure we didn't look great tonight either, but we sure look better than the Boys thus far as a whole.
