I would add that there are WR drops that can be attributed to poor 3rd down conversion as well as poor blocking on runs.

RGIII is that great. Just wait until the rest of the team catches up.

Re: Kudos to RG III

He just put up a 97.5 QBR in week 6 (the best in the league for a single game all year) and ranks sixth his total QBR through six games. Guess who is number 7.... Andrew Luck.

RGIII is who this team needed. Thanks Colts for drafting Luck, because this is our guy.
No. He's not. Matt Ryan would be a MVP winner right now more than anybody. Also, this is the one thing that bothered me about getting RGIII. Fans will overlook anything and put them on a pedestal. RGIII needs to work on that 3rd down QB rating before he can touch a MVP trophy. He's got a long way to go, but he's done a great job so far.
I for one don't think he has earned a MVP award, though he should be considered, and as far as that third down rating I want you to look at how many third downs he is trying to convert beyond 3rd and 5. That is where we are having problems, is getting a dumb penalty or having a bad run and getting stuck with 3rd and 9 or 3rd and 15. We shoot our selves in foot more often than not at times, and asking a guy to convert something that long on a consistent basis can be difficult.

Re: Kudos to RG III

His last 40 yards of the 76-yard run was timed at exactly 4.0 seconds...sure he had a running start but he was looking back, slowing down and high-stepping. Amazing.

Griffin’s 76-yard touchdown is the stuff of legends. (Read Griffin's description of how he experienced the play.) Such game-changing, explosive plays are why you trade three first-round picks and a second-rounder to move up to draft him. It was special for so many reasons.

First, the speed. Griffin planted his back foot at the Redskins’ 15-yard line. He reached the end zone 10.8 seconds later. That’s a 40-yard dash pace of 4.89 seconds, and he ran laterally to the sideline after breaking the line of scrimmage and then slowed down in the final five yards. But even with the slowdown at the end of the run, he ran the last 60 yards in a straight line in 6.1 seconds and the last 40 yards in 4.0. That is unreal. “Speed kills” is a cliché because it’s true. With the Redskins teetering on the brink of collapse, Griffin’s speed put the Vikings to the sword.

Exactly. Matt Ryan isnt relegated to the third and longs all the time. Its like how everyone wants to say eli is a great come from behind - fourth quarter qb. Well eli and the gints put themselves in those come from behind positions in the first place. Lol. Also if i could have matt ryan (as a rookie) or rg3 i would take rg3 in a heartbeat. Matt ryan has two of the best wr's and a hell of a team around him.

All while he had a smile from ear to ear. I actually think while RGIII puts in the hard work he still goes out and has fun playing the game of football. I think that helps his play at this point as much as anything. When a QB starts to think too much and starts trying to make plays is when they have more problems. To me it seem RGIII is having the time of his life while also performing on the field.

I said in another thread talking to Giantone that I would honestly take RG III over any qb in the league to build a team around. He is that good and will be even better in years 5-10 than the rest of the current qb's in the nfl.

Yup. Never thought last year with rex n beck or for that matter jc, brunell, ramsey, etc etc that i would say it. But i wouldnt trade rg3 for any other qb in the league. No way.
Edit: i mean i never thought i would say i think we have the best qb in football. I still have trouble wrapping my head around it. Lol.

Re: Kudos to RG III

figured this may be the place for it since this is griff-inspired:

is griff the fastest player on the redskins? do they ever measure them like they measured darrell green in his 40s (get it?)? do they ever race like portis and landry?

Re: Kudos to RG III

Armstrong WAS our fastest I think.

I'd like to see him and Banks race. I wouldn't bet against RGIII against ANYONE in a race.

Re: Kudos to RG III

i'm sorry if the term offends anyone, but i think saying someone has "getting away from the cops speed" is both funny and flattering.

i've got hide from the cops speed.

i would love to see a race w griff, banks, robinson, moss? anyone else who wants the fastest redskin title

Re: Kudos to RG III

Forgot about Aldrick. Might as well let D-Hall in that race too.
