Bummer that doesn't seem to be the case, Shanahan won't take responsibility for hiring a clown.

Jim Haslett, other coaches are safe through bye week, Shanahan says [this post has been updated]

Look on the bright side: If enough people submit write-in votes for Jim Haslett for President today, then we Redskins fans could be rid of his dumb ass by January.

The question then becomes, who do you replace Haslett with? Does Mike Shanahan still want the 34 defense or is he willing to alter the defense to a 43? Something tells me Haslett is not going anywhere and neither is the 34.

Some names under consideration: Darren Perry, Vance Joseph, Ted Monachino, Kevin Coyle, Mark Duffner

I like Vance Joseph from the Texans myself. I know Wade gets most of the credit, but their secondary is all over the place and fun to watch.

Mark Duffner the old Maryland coach? He was horrible with the Terps, another Haslett?

Since you are mentioning NCAA defensive coordinators, what about Bob Diaco?

What about Nick Aliotti?
ND has looked stout this year on D but Manti Teo is a man posessed.

That's one LB I would love to see in B&G.

Gibbs wasn't an egomaniac like Shanny. For some reason I feel Mike doesn't want a competent Defensive coach on the staff because he doens't want the competion. Looking at his DCs none of them were barn burners. I wouldn't be surprised if he replaced Haslett with another jabroni DC.

Teo would be an excellent replacement for London Fletcher. But what about Keenan Robinson? Isn't he being groomed to eventually replace Fletcher? I think he is.

I think I realized why you want Nick Aliotti so much; Because he supposedly runs a hybrid 4-3 3-4 defense...?

Interesting but its a college coach. Those guys are shaky. I guess I'd rather have him over the ND guy, considering that when I watched OU game, he had his DBs playing like ours, way off the ball. I don't think he'd work as well in the NFL as Aliotti could. But both are good D coordinators.
