I think it really comes down to protection, that's what I'm saying.

Take Big Ben for example. He's had lousy protection through most of his career and everyone pointed to his toughness (and it doesn't hurt that he's a huge dude), but now the injuries are lasting longer and he's not playing at the same level. Does this make sense?

The think the concern for RG3, which is pretty much unanimous outside this board btw, is legit.
Every QB gets hit.. RG3 holds the ball and looks to run when the play breaks down or doesn't go his way. It's been going on all year. It's going to happen next year, and many more after that..

Talking about what "might happen" is like talking about the end of the world on Jan. 1st.

Yes. Every qb that has ever played is one hit away from ending their career at anytime. Look at Steve Young. Dude had an all pro offensive line and suffered how many concussions? He is now in the hall of fame with a lombardi trophy. Would have had more of them if he didnt sit behind Montana in the wings.

Does anyone think its possible Shanahan's comments about using the rest of the season to "evaluate" players was a calculated move to light a fire under players whom he felt werent giving their all? I think he just spoke without really thinking it through and the media ran wild with it. either way, I cant really think of another reason to explain why the defense has played so much better the past 3 weeks, other than defensive players simply executing better.

I think in that moment he was just really deflated and felt like the season was slipping away. Maybe his comments ruffled some feathers but more than anything I think what really helped was having the bye week.

After the first Giants game I think that loss took the wind out of our sails for a few games there and you could tell with the way we played against Pitt and Carolina. We got our mojo back after the bye.

I think thats what you get when your expected to win and you lose. I can tell you I expected the team to win that game. In any event after a loss if he was as mad as I was and had to do interviews I can understand why he said what he said. He was pissed, let down, and prbably was not up for an interview. Emotions went crazy and he spoke out loud.

for what? I'd have expected the Giants player who stomped on the Redskins player to have been suspended 4 games. He should have been ejected during the game. I know he did it cause our player kicked out at him for pulling him and it was around groin level but the Giant player had no right to pull our player like he was.

Can't believe I forgot about the OTL special on RG3 today. Will have to catch the podcast later. Curious what was said

On a side note I love how RGIII does his post game interview in Pads. Doing this just screams that he doesn't follow the Norm.

That always the case, or just yesterday?

He's done that 2-3 times this year. So, it isn't common but he has done it much more than other players.
