Re: Official Redskins Off-Season News & Rumors-Part Trois
Quote:
AP: More Americans hail Redskins over other names for Cowboys' rival Never been a big fan of polls. I'll make an exception in this case. WASHINGTON — It’s been a rough offseason for the Washington Redskins, and not just because of the knee injury to star quarterback Robert Griffin III. The team’s nickname, which some consider a derogatory term for Native Americans, has faced a barrage of criticism. Local leaders and pundits have called for a name change. Opponents have launched a legal challenge intended to deny the team federal trademark protection. A bill introduced in Congress in March would do the same, though it appears unlikely to pass. But a new Associated Press-GfK poll shows that nationally,“Redskins” still enjoys widespread support. Nearly four in five Americans don’t think the team should change its name, the survey found. Only 11 percent think it should be changed, while 8 percent weren’t sure and 2 percent didn’t answer. Although 79 percent favor keeping the name, that does represent a 10 percentage point drop from the last national poll on the subject, conducted in 1992 by The Washington Post and ABC News just before the team won its most recent Super Bowl. Then, 89 percent said the name should not be changed, and 7 percent said it should. <shakes fist at skinsfaninok for being first> |

I like Warriors for some unknown reason. I like Warriorz more but would unlikely have much support.

whoops; fail on my part. I guess Amerson could be 24. Yes I know we have two 24's again, with him and gomes, but with 90 guys on the roster and some 'retired' numbers, they're going to repeat.

Not many good numbers the way it is now, I'm sure they will give Amerson first dibs on a # since he was first pick, I'll bet he goes with 27 Rambo and Thomas will probably get stuck with ugly 40 #s until after cuts are made and more 20s and 30s open up.

Ya know, if there was one thing Vinnie did good, it was creating discussion topics throughout the off-season. Bruce Allen and Mike Shanahan sure could learn a thing or two from Vinnie!!!

Re: Official Redskins Off-Season News & Rumors-Part Trois
Signing Pierre Garcon and Josh Morgan is considered winning an offseason?
When Peyton Manning and Mario Williams were available. People are forgetting the days of Vinny pretty fast if they are thinking we won last offseason. And no, I dont consider the trade for RG3 to be a Vinny winning the offseason move. Vinny would have offered $100 mil to Mario and then offered the house to acquire Mark Sanchez. RG3 was then, and still is today, a good move. And we all know that Vinny was allergic to good moves in his days here. |

#48 would be good for Rambo since he wore #18 in college.
