"The Las Vegas Raiders are in the final stages of trading for the Packers superstar receiver and giving him a new five-year, $141.25 million contract, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported. Adams will make a per-year average of $28.25 million and becomes the new highest-paid wide receiver in NFL history, Rapoport added."

It sounds like Adam’s was willing to sit out the season after being tagged. In the end this was the best the packers could hope for. Carr has to be stoked he now has hands down the best WR in NFL.

Also, the Panthers are being slammed on Twitter now that they are out of the Watson sweepstakes:
@SharpFootball Matt Rhule's key QB moves in Carolina - signed Teddy Bridgewater (3 yr, $63M) - traded for Sam Darnold (lost 2nd, 4th & 6th rd picks) - traded away Bridgewater for a 6th - exercised Darnold's 5th yr option - signed Matt Barkley - signed Cam Newton - benched Newton - cut Barkley @FieldYates Carolina owned the 8th pick in a QB rich draft last year and instead decided to trade for Sam Darnold. This year they tried to trade for Deshaun Watson to replace Darnold, to no avail. Finding their franchise QB has proven to be a major challenge.

WR is generally accepted as the hardest position for a rookie to be successful at (non-QB). And if not the hardest, top 2 (same rule).
You can't just say hey, we will draft 2 rookies, and the production is replaced. Davante Adams is an absolute stone cold fucking beast. You're not replacing that with a couple rookies. Not to mention, if you double down at WR, you lose picks at other positions. Packers continue to just think Rodgers will work it all out.

The Houston Texans went 4-12 in 2020 with Deshaun Watson and also went 4-13 in 2021 without him. Tell me more about how having a "franchise" QB gives you a chance.
Dude is overrated, and now overpaid. I will not be shocked when the Browns fail to make the playoffs in 2022.
