Re: Free Agency Around the NFL Style

Mayfield may have to wait to see how the draft shakes out.

Another blockbuster coming? Despite an offer from the #Chiefs that would make superstar Tyreek Hill one of the highest-paid receivers, extension talks have stalled and Kansas City has now given Hill’s agent permission to seek a trade, sources tell me and @TomPelissero.

@AdamSchefter
Jets and Dolphins are in serious talks to trade for Chiefs’ WR Tyreek Hill, per league sources. Hill and Chiefs are mulling what to do but Hill’s time in KC looks like it could be coming to an end.

Think this is a mistake by KC. Hill was a huge reason they won the SB converting the 4th and long. Few players have his skill set, production, and talent. This is surprising to me and think he may get scooped up quickly.

Actually I think this is a good move on Chiefs' part. There is not much Chiefs can do when Hill turns down the offer to be one of the highest paid players in NFL, it's better for teams to move on from/trade away the players who do not want to stay with the team. Unlike what we did with Cousins and Scherff.

Just saw the news that Chiefs got a few draft picks (including 1st and 2nd round picks) for Hill, this is much better than forcing Hill to stay with the team via franchise tag and then lose him in free agency next year.

Wow kinda seems unimaginable to not have Hill and Mahomes together.

If he goes (likely now), they will draft one of these speed demons coming out in the draft I imagine at wr. There are several available.

Marquez Valdes-Scantling reportedly now visiting KC giving the Hill-KC divorce more momentum. Valdes-Scantling is fast but he's not Hill. It'll be interesting to see what KC lands for Hill assuming it goes through.

I thought Marquez Valdes-Scantling might be a good idea for us, but I haven't heard anything to suggest it was a possibility. He would be a good fit with Wentz.

Agreed. He's 6'4" and ran a 4.37. Sure Mahomes and Reid would love to have him. As good as Hill is, one thing he doesn't have is great size.

@AlbertBreer

The Chiefs have traded Tyreek Hill to the Dolphins for 2022 first-, second- and fourth-round picks, and 2023 fourth- and sixth-round picks, per source.

HUGE haul.

The Dolphins are a bunch of morons. I would never give up that kind of draft stock for a WR. Especially when you got a shitty QB. The contract is bad enough, but giving away draft capital. SMH

Agreed, I know he's electric, but he averaged 7 touches a game last year.

They're in the opposite boat of KC & GB...not paying for a superstar QB...so bringing in weapons around Tua with a solid D...trying to do it like Seattle did before. The dolphins have a bunch of draft picks as well. They're all in with this new coach...certainly not tanking now haha...I'm sure Flores is like WTF??
