Imagine if we had a GM with Balls.
He'd tell Snyder to stop smoking crack and making PR mistakes that cause retention and coaching problems with all this garbage....who is Cutler's agent?
Is Snyder trying to get the guy a big payoff or something?
It is something he has be accused of before.

It doesn't matter what happens in this deal...it is just like Cincy last year and Williams the year before...all post Gibbs...Its not just the FA and drafts that measure a quality FO...it is the intangibles...like this sorta crap.

For me, its Cutlers alleged alcohol abuse. A diabetic has no business drinking alcohol AT ALL, let alone in the amounts Cutler is reported of as drinking. It also shows a pattern of self-destructive behavior. Cutler is too risky of a move.

That said, if we did trade a plethora of picks for Cutler, the Skins could make up for it by trading Campbell to Chicago for Briggs, straight up... oh wait, thats impossible, nevermind.

I was hesitant to bring the diabetes up cuz it's so common...but yeah that should be a serious consideration. My uncle was a fantastic b-ball player, ready to get a full ride scholarship to college until his diabetes worsened, which can happen quickly and w/o much warning.

...I hate this Cutler business so much. Gonna have to dose myself to sleep tonight w/ something strong.

No OL help in the draft and the loss of stability.

Stability is something that Joe Gibbs put a lot of effort into when he came here. I don't want us go back to major wholesale personnel changes on a yearly basis because no one has the balls to stand up to Dan's wonderlust.

I won't cry a river if JC leaves. For me it's what we'd have to give up. We need starting caliber talent at tackle and OLB right now. Like yesterday. Giving up our top pick(s) craps on our chances at a guy like Oher, who we can agree we'd both love in B&G.

I don't know what Cutler would do to our '09 cap, but it I'm sure it would hinder our ability for more FA O-lineman or OLBs to go with the picks we'd have to shed to pick him up.

for me it would just be giving up too much IF that ends up being the case

who's to say he doesn't fail here due to other inadequacies.. or that we can't find a few other potential stars due to potential picks lost.. if campbell fails this coming up year we could just say whatever, draft a 1st rounder next year, throw in a vet or colt for a year and try that out if the 1st rounder doesn't show ability to go at the moment

You know I am not a basher and this whole thing is killing me.

First, it throws us into turmoil and change AGAIN. We simply cannot make drastic course changes every two years. THere has to be some sense of direction, some confidence that the sacrifices of today are meant to strengthen the org in the long haul. SOmething that says we aren't just trying to win one more game next year...we're trying to build a lasting strong organization. Trading away assets for what really seems like only a marginal upgrade isn't that. Especially when we have clear and admnitted deficiencies that those assets could help address.

Second, we are going to overpay. This deal is done. My opinion of course but let's be honest. When was the last time that a situation presented itself and Dan Snyder decided he wanted to do it and DIDN'T get it done? The fact that we have reached the point where it is common knowledge that we are trying to pull this means to me that DS has reached that point. He'll make it happen and it is gonna hurt us long run. It is. I like Cutler as a player. I think talent wise he is an upgrade. NOt a huge upgrade though. Leadership wise he seems to me to be clearly lacking. Denver has screwed the pooch on this but Cutler held the dog down as they did it. Straight up I can't argue with the move but this isn't going to happen straight up.
