Andrew Luck aside, I haven't given a player this high a grade since either Matt Leinart or Brady Quinn.

Given proper context, I have no idea what I'm trying to say here. Don't draft a top QB with an embattled coach, maybe? No, that's probably not it.

RG3 does seem to be starting with a lot more talent here than Luck has in Indy though. Maybe more talent than Tannehill too, if Tannehill gets stuck in Cleveland or Seattle.

Miami's in the catbird seat now though. They pretty much get us out of the way, don't have to worry all that much about the Browns, and can pick Tannehill/Osweiler/Foles/Weeden or whoever at no. 9 if they wish.

3 high draft picks for one guy? What an overpay! When do we ever get on the right side of trades? Never. I like RG3 a lot but not at this price. This team simply isn't in a position to throw away high draft picks.

We got on the right side of a trade in 2008. The Falcons gave us two 2nd round picks and we ended up with three pass catchers. Look supporting parts are great but without a QB they're just luxuries. Look at any successful team, the QB is the true foundation. Other parts can easily be replaced but almost every move is made around the QB, at least when you have a good one.

Do Thomas and Kelly even count as supporting parts? What were they supporting exactly, other than Mike Shanahan's eventual ascension to head coach here.

Unfortunately it would appear that some of our esteemed members want to judge our players on weather or not they have a model quality girlfriends.

Well Devin Thomas was a gift for the local ladies and Malcolm Kelly was a kickback to the local doctors.

Still don't like this move. Not at all. I would've kept the picks and drafted someone. RG3 has a ton of upside but that doesn't always translate to the pro game.

Well, since our scouting staff is top notch; we can just sit back and relaaaaaaaaaaaax.

A toast to our future success.

lol, 10 years from now, I'll probably regret this post(5733). haha.

Actually that strategy can work to an extent, but it takes a lot of suffering, and its still not enough. You have to have a top 11 pick for at least 7 years straight. You'll have to go through many coaches, and even those fired coaches might have helped out the team in the future by straightening out a "problem child" player, and you hit on "THE ONE" coach and then with all that top 11 talent(although the QB plays well below his draft position), go to the NFC Championship game and then have the returner screw it up.

But it might not have mattered anyway if Tom Brady had his way.
