One could say the same for Grossman. When was the last time he started?... couple years ago?

There is a reason other teams are not banging our door down to get Grossman. If I remember correctly didn't he want to go to Miami over the summer and Miami said NO!.

Wonder why? he's so good. They must be idiots also.

I love preseason football, people actually debate about important vital components to the Redskins like who would be the better 3rd string quarterback... Pat White vs. Rex Grossman

Re: Redskins @ Titans Thread

Look I'm in no way saying PW is our savior and better then RG3 or Cousins. All I'm saying is we know what we have in Grossman and in my opinion as a player he does not offer much. Does that mean PW offers more? no but he's younger and more mobile.

You want to solve the problem? Lets pick up a Rookie QB and stick him on the PS to develop for when we trade Cousins away for draft picks next year.

To be honest this is a blessing twist. We could be talking about who the starting QB should be and how bad they suck like we have done for over 10 yrs.

Barring injury White isn't making the team, sorry.
Productive disscusion? About the first preseason game? This is a message board on the Internet right? The best one out there in my opinion, but none the less a message board. We are merly looking for someone to root for and make the preseason a little more exciting and half of you guys wanna shoot it down like we are saying he should start week one. I mean the kid had a damn nice game, even against 4th and 3rd stringers. And as someone who has followed him in college, his accuracy looked a lot better last night. And for the rest of the preseason you can bet I'll be pullin for him. It will at a minimum make the games that much more entertaining.

And also who's to say they don't keep him to use a backup qb and utility player. Toss him in some crazy formations. If this was RG and Kirk's first year I would understand the whole Rex is learning them to the game argument. But this is the second season and I don't know what Rex has left to teach RG or Kirk. If white doesn't make the team I hope Rex doesn't either. I'd rather have two qb's and give that roster spot to someone else.

Re: Redskins @ Titans Thread

On a side note all the other players talked about as far as doing well I thought they all looked good.

Robinson seemed to drop a couple of balls and allowed one to hit his pads and bounce off.

Hankerson seemed to look better the more the game went on but for some reason he had trouble with a couple of balls. One I think was thrown behind him though.

Lewis caught the ball and seemed to be hard to bring down. On one occasion he had a defender on his back and still ran for about 5 to 10 more yards. On another occasion he ran through a tackle.

Helu looked really good, but so did Royster at the end.

Fred Davis had a good night. Paulson looked good also.

Defensive pressure looked good but it could get better. Perhaps with stunts and more intricate plays they will be hard to stop.

As stated the back field seemed to struggle but maybe with some time working together they will get better.

Special Teams looked a lot better. Hopefully they improve more and more. Kick return could be better.

Alrighty then.

How about we move on and talk about something other than the 3rd string QB?

I really liked B. Jenkins, I think he could add a new dimension to the pass rush.

Also liked what I saw from Minnifield and Crawford.

Shameless self-promotion. It is what it is.

Briscoe continues to amaze me with how bad his hands are.

Thanks for moving the discussion forward...

The alignment that got Kerrigan his sack could be incredibly tough to block.. Jenkins coming off the edge, Kerrigan at DE against a guard, Tapp with his hand on the ground against a guard and Orakpo off the other edge. If we can generate a consistent rush with that 4 it makes the job on the back end that much easier.

I'm admittedly in the minority but Helu is still a 'prove it' player to me. His vision and RB instincts are sub par. He's got great feet and speed but the difference between him and Morris or even Royster in understanding where the hole is, where the cutback lane is and when to wait for it is night and day. I hope some of it was rust but it was an issue in '11 also.

From the Titans side, Jake Locker=Jason Campbell. He is their version of Captain Checkdown. I think he will be what keeps them from being a decent team.

I'm not dead but this team is dead to me...but now that McCloughan is here they may have new life!

Jay Gruden = Zorny McSpurrier
Kirk Cousins = Next Grossman

Agreed on Helu. Royster is probably the better fit in the zone scheme, but Helu has that home run ability with his speed.

Locker is bad. I won't be shocked if Fitzpatrick ends up starting at some point.

Re: Redskins @ Titans Thread

Jenkins looked good at FSU. I was glad that he fell and hopefully he stays healthy. He definitely allows the coaches to be more creative, will be interesting to see if they find a way to play Rob Jackson (when he returns), Orakpo, Kerrigan, and Jenkins all at the same time.

Unlike the safeties the young corners were impressive last night. Amerson looks like he can turn into a solid corner and looks to have extremely long arms, which is a huge advantage against the bigger receivers, like Dez Bryant or Hakeem Nicks.

Crawford, Amerson, and Minnifield could be our future at CB...all starting next year.
