Breeland was pretty much a roster lock, IMO. But yeah, not the wisest move by him. Hopefully he leaves the rule-breaking behind Trent-style after his fine.

Breeland was a late round pick, no way he's a roster lock. Just a dumb decision by a rookie. Even if he does make the team he's looking at increased testing from the drug program, if he wasn't already. And if he was already being tested often, we're probably looking at a suspension too.

What Breeland did was dumb and will hurt him. But the dude is young and, like many others at that age, foolish. And in the world of NFL misbehavior, this is about as minimal as it gets.

I agree with all of this. The only way this is more than a DOH moment is if he gets put into the NFL drug testing program. If that happens, his window for DOH moments shrinks considerably. If the NFL ignores it, or goes with a fine only then he will move on from it, and hopefully be smarter in the future.

The reporting from camp sure sounded like he was playing well enough to be a lock. Keim said more than once he was pushing Biggers and Porter for the slot CB role.

Chris Thompson not in pads again today. #Redskins

I think this guy is gone. Sometimes you just can't get your body right.

Sad. I've liked Worthington. Not the most talented but a scrapper.

^He's got some size at 6-7, 255. Not the most athletic though.

Maybe this could be taken as positive news about Stephen Bowen, though? Maybe he's close to being cleared?

How did Breeland become just a camp body? By all accounts he's had a solid camp and the coaches really like his long term potential.

Re: Set it all aside -- Training Camp Begins

I know everyone wants Griffin to be the quintessential pocket passer, but I have a feeling we will be seeing a lot of rollouts and play action. And I think that's going to be a very good thing:

Washington Redskins ‏@Redskins 1h
Speaking of great connections, @RGIII finds @DeSeanJackson11 down the right side for a 45-yard completion during 11-on-11's. #HTTR

It would be dumb to not take advantage of his legs when it comes to rolling out or boot looks off PA. I'm pretty sure Gruden will mix a lot of that stuff in.

Yeah gotta have a lot of rollouts and play action rollouts to get him on the move. However, NFL defensive coordinators aren't stupid. They're going to try and keep him inside the tackle box.

True, but my point is, Griffin's game isn't defined simply by pure pocket passing. He is better when you move him a bit, and although defenses will try to keep him in the tackle box, good game planning on our side, which I expect we will have, will put RGIII in positions that give him the advantage.
