Actually no, they may say they want to cut taxes on the middle class but most of the tax rates they have passed hit the middle class more than any other group, ACA being the perfect example. The biggest losers from the ACA were those in the lower to mid middle class that didn't qualify for the subsidies (resulting in millions no longer having insurance at all - yes even more poorer people did gain insurance but it was at the expense of the lower middle class) while the rest of the middle class and higher had their Medical costs shy-rocket. And the recent Dem economic policies have been downright awful. The Inflation Reduction Act should have been called the Inflation Acceleration Act (Heck there wasn't any part of it designed to lower inflation, and its' actual results weren't really a surprise to anyone) - that was a massive hit on the middle class.

I made this comment in another thread. Inflation post COVID was a worldwide issue, if you look at where the US ranked in 2023 on the list we are far far down that list. To blame the Biden Administration for a problem that was a global problem and far worse in so many other countries is flat out wrong. By the way the Inflation Reducton Act succeeded. Inflation was cut nearly in half from 22 to 23. .

As for the ACA the income limits for subsidies goes to $58,320, For a 2 person household that figure goes up to $78,880. That is most definitely middle class in America so again your claim that the ACA prevents lower and middle class workers from qualifying is simply not backed up by the facts.

I said accelerated which means inflation was already moving and any economist will tell you that the Inflation Reduction Act contributed to the increase in the inflationary rate (In fact none of it was designed to lower inflation, the name was pure propaganda).

As for the ACA rates are based on 400 times the federal poverty level. They only take into account insurance rates for adjustment not the cost of living for different areas. Middle class (family of three) varies according to an areas cost of living. You used the middle-class definition at the national level 49-148K, but in Maryland for example it is $66k-197K and in really high areas (San Fran) it begins at $250K. Millions of people, all middle class, who had insurance prior to ACA, had to drop insurance and do without because it massively drove up costs and they couldn't afford it any longer. There were winners and losers in ACA, and the biggest losers came from the middle class.

The biggest deception by both parties is that moderate non party aligned candidates have no chance. Both parties equally work hard to maintain and protect this deception, but an independent sane moderate ticket without obstacles placed by the two parties would win with 40 to 50% of the vote.

Illegal immigrant suspects in Texas girl’s murder were recently caught by Border Patrol, released into US

We simply need to have a better system as a country. This 12-year old girl should still be alive.

Trump actually had a good proposal - Keeping foreign college graduates once they get their degrees. That is an idea I've had for years (Basically rob your competitors of their best minds - and especially the Chinese). Oh before any of the usual suspects get their panties in a bunch that doesn't mean Trump is no longer an enemy of the Constitution - it's just a good idea that should be adopted.

A centrists dilemma.

".....Anti-speech regulations are eroding pluralism in my industry and in society. Analyzing large-scale surveys, political scientist Eric Kaufmann found over a third of conservative professors and doctoral students face sanctions for their views. So do one in 10 liberals, who are often censored by those farther left. Off-campus, 48 percent of Americans report that they self-censor at work — more than three times the percentage of the McCarthy era. ...."

Another trump flunky abusing his power and being a hypocrite.

https://news.yahoo.com/news/jim-jord...192139698.html

Jim Jordan subpoenas company of Trump judge’s daughter

The House Judiciary Committee has subpoenaed the company that employs the daughter of Juan Merchan, the New York judge who is overseeing former President Trump’s hush money trial.

The subpoena escalates a brewing battle between the panel’s Subcommittee on Weaponization of the Federal Government and the company, Authentic Campaigns, which previously rebuffed lawmakers’ demands to turn over any communications the company had with Merchan, noting they simply don’t exist.

The letter from Chair Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) asks CEO Mike Nellis to sit for a deposition with the company and sign a sworn affidavit that the company never communicated with Merchan.

Nellis had previously mocked Jordan, calling it absurd to suggest that his company would have any dealings with an employee’s parent, while noting that the firm does not perform services for the campaigns of either President Biden or Vice President Harris, and its political work has no connection to the outcome of Trump’s hush money trial.

It is so absurd. It shouldn't even be legal. (probably isn't we just have corporations exploit loopholes that legislatures intentionally put in there so they get rich)

And the rich people that run/profit off of them. Guarantee hedge funds, etc., also contribute to having the "laws" written as they are.

No one in a position of power does anything besides benefitting themselves 1st, then if a result of that is some regular people benefit, that's just an added bonus they can lie about like it was done on purpose.

Until the tax code is simplified and the federal government has to have a balanced budget, the whole country is fucked, and eventually it will be too late to recover. And I put this on politicians the most. They are just dirty fucking under the table businessman/businesswoman.

Well, she is right and as much as lefties hate it that boat (him being considered a Great President) has sailed. Interesting thing I've discovered is a small part of the most cultish part of MAGA hates him as much as the extreme left.
