Gibbs said " Number 1 for a number 1 pick" If Sean Taylor is #1, I'll buy that Jersey the day its released, because #1 Jerseys are awsome.

I didnt think he was allowed to wear number one. Thatd be cool if he could though. I dont really care for the rule that much, if a dlinemen wants to wear number 14 then by all means please do. Imagine seeing a big guy like C.Griffin with a signle digit on his back, might look weird but whatever.

Isn't that just the standard jersey number they display at most press conferences?

yea everyone gets number 1 at a conference or when you are drafted. But for some reason I recall them giving Portis a 26 jersey, which is why i didnt understand all the number confusion at first. Anyone else remember the Portis conference?

Yeah, he had a #26 Jersey at the Press Conference. I'm pretty sure Brunell got #8 too. I think the #1 thing is only for when your drafted.

I sure am glad Smoot wears #21, so we can all forget the other CB that wore that number.

I have him wearing #42 on Madden 2004. Though it's unlikely if Charlie Taylor wore it. Hey, Eli "CryBaby" Manning bought his #10 jersey from Feagles, will Sean Taylor do the same? I hope not. I hated when Karl Malone said he would wear #32 for the Lakers. What a 'slap in the face', even if Magic OK'd it.

29! Restore the dignity to that number after it was stripped with the benching of Sam Shade. Shade was a beast. I'll spare all of you the Sam Shade for Hall of Fame rant...most of you that have been around for a while know it by now. Anyway, I loved Sam Shade when he was here. What a hitter! He was a great safety for the Skins. A little suspect against the pass, but he stop the run and if you went over the middle he would let you know it was his territory. Sam Shade was a great safety and I'd love to see Sean Taylor rock number 29 on the field this season.

Shade was a great safety? Guess we'll have to agree to disagree. He was an average safety at best in my book, good in run support but very suspect in coverage.

I liked Shade and it was too bad that his career had to end with that neck injury. That being said, when I think Redskins #29 I don't think Sam Shade, I think of hard-hitting Super Bowl winning free safety Mark Murphy. I think Sean Taylor would do Murph proud wearing his old number
