Re: NFL Coaching Trees

(I would have posted it but as a relative newcomer I did not want to risk a verbal beat down like that young kid was getting yesterday)

70Chip - As a fellow Manasshole, I would encourage you to speak your mind freely and openly. Don't worry about what you post. Just worry about the 75 "Moderators" we now have.

I was speaking with tongue slightly in cheek. I'm never sure what people find interesting. I love this sort of historical stuff as I think TAFKAS does. Others seem to prefer discussing pie. I'm all about League History, Playcalling, and Announcer-Hating.

Also, I definitely think there is a teriffic book in all these relationships. My experience has been that when I have an idea that I think would make a good book, the book comes out about 6 months later. (The original concept for "Bridges of Madison County" was mine, man!)

I love historical stuff as well...but I also love discussing pie, ice cream, and topics that have already previously been discussed ad-nauseum. I'm a Rennaisance man

I sort of half-mentioned the Marty tree around this time last year

Thanks Matty for expanding on it all

forum rule 2.5.16a, no user shall ever make mention of dreaded extended dark legion of moderators and/or any details or insights about their future plans to take over the world.

Thank you for you're cooperation, and remember, this post doesn't exist.

For mentioning the unmentionable forum rule and that which it refers to, That Guy is now an unperson.

Re: NFL Coaching Trees

I know he's more known now for being an owner, but Al Davis should figure pretty prominently. I think he was an assistant under Sid Gillman, and Madden and Walsh were both assistants under him.

This is a gem. Thanks for preparing it. I'm going to link to it on my blog so I can always find it.
