Re: Redskins Interested in TO
all i have to say is i hope all they are doing is flirting with the idea of TO and thats all.
denver can have him.although i would love his talents but not his ego that goes along with it.

Re: Redskins Interested in TO
I'm with you Daseal. I can't help but imagine how unstoppable our offense could be with TO. Imagine TO, Moss, Cooley, and Portis all together on the same offense with Al Saunders running the show, damn we would really give defenses nightmares!
That being said I can't help but think of what a knucklehead he can be. Nobody to this point has been able to "tame" him and I doubt anyone will ever be able to. Perhaps we get a year or two out of him before he implodes again, that might be worth the risk to take a shot at winning it all. |

I like this trade on one condition. TO has his tongue surgically removed.

Re: Redskins Interested in TO
Three things:
1. I just said this in another post, but, if T.O. comes to D.C. and thinks he can wear #81 I'm pretty sure i won't be the only one that has a problme with that. I know the Skins don't really retire numbers or anything, but we can't let this punk (regardless of how great he plays he's still a punk) sully Art Monk's memory here by wearing 81. 2. Does this remind anyone else of Freddie Mitchell last season? The Skins had little to no interest in him, but it seemed like he tried to make it seem like they did just to raise his value. This could be just another case of a FA (or disgruntled player) saying the Skins and Dan "Moneybags" Snyder want him. 3. Doesn't every locker room say they can handle a player like T.O.? Didn't Philly just say that a couple of years ago. Well some job they did. I think we need to be concerned with keeping this team on the path that we started this past season. We finally have some stability, we don't need T.O. to come in here and shake things up. Granted we need a great receiver but I'd rather pass on this headcase. If we feel like we really must have him I say we try to get him on a one year contract just for a Super Bowl push, because anymore time with one team and T.O. will start bitching about something and we all know what happens then...

Re: Redskins Interested in TO
I think it's a risk if you take him and a risk if you don't.
The whole "this team has a veteran lockeroom" thing won't make much of a difference to T.O. If it works out this time for him, whoever he ends up with, it will be because he's made a conscience to decision to do so. Not because of veteran leadership, per se. I don't think, at this point in his career, he'll all of a sudden mold to the personality of any one lockeroom. But for some reason, I think he's had a wake up call and whatever team lands him could be that next team to beat. |

Re: Redskins Interested in TO
Of course, if the Redskins get him, Offiss and RC56 will protest because we have no one to get him the ball.

Re: Redskins Interested in TO
Still got a long way to go before this is a reality.
This sounds like pure speculation on King's part. Ever since Snyder came here whenever there's a big name player on the market, the Redskins are predictably added to the short list of potential destinations. |

I just got off the phone with Lawyer Bill. He says that you are now being sued by Texas A&M. I guess you will have to change your name too.

Re: Redskins Interested in TO
Crazy Canuck, join my chorus whenever you feel comfortable...
We don't have the cap room. At least not yet. If the CBA is not extended by March 3 (or if a continuance is not enacted by March 3), then we will actually have to shed players rather than acquiring big names. If the CBA gets extended or there is a continuance, then I can see us having the cap room to do it. But guys come on, there's NO WAY the Eagles will trade him within the division so long as there are teams like the Broncos and Chiefs willing to give up a pick. I'll keep an open mind, stranger things have happened. But on this one, I think cooler heads (Gibbs') will prevail. I don't see this happening and I think it's a misplaced rumor started by someone who thinks Dan Snyder is still interested on spending at any cost. |

Re: Redskins Interested in TO
How could Reggie Wayne cost that much more than trading for TO? Everybody on the squad wants Reggie, and I think that's what we're gonna do.

Re: Redskins Interested in TO
The only way I see him ever being given the privilege to wear a skins uni is if his contract has the most strict language about acts detrimental to the team. And I seriously think the Eagles wouldn't be opposed to trading within the division in the hopes TO would be almost like a Trojan Horse to tear apart a rival from the inside like he did to them. I'm very torn about this cuz I absolutely hate the attitude he has towards other players, but on the other hand the idea of putting TO, Moss, Cooley, and Portis on the field while under the direction of Saunders just can't help but make u wonder how many offensive records could be broken with that collection of talent.

Re: Redskins Interested in TO
stranger things have happened.if coach gibbs and the staff think the skins are very close to winning it all,i can see this happening.as much as i think T.O. is a horses ass, there is no doubt about his ablility on the field come gameday.i for one would trade conflict and headaches for one season in return for a super bowl trophy.how about you?
