Re: Possible FA wish list for depth
I doubt we're getting another RB, we've still got to see nemo, have betts/rock and 3 more that weren't on the roster at tampa bay.
mix will be available in the 5th round, but i think the skins are probably looking for a blocking TE instead of a speedster... greg blue wouldn't be bad though, he's a hard hitter. he has the speed to cover, but still has some work to do there. |

Re: Possible FA wish list for depth
i feel like i have said this a million times,WE NEED A PASS RUSHER!this is the most important piece to the mix(in my opinion)i was watching the seattle loss the other day and hassleback made play after play because he had too much time in the pocket

Re: Possible FA wish list for depth
i wouldnt even be opposed to bringing back nd kalu(at a cheap contract)just to rush the passer, not to play every down.sort of like the skins used fred stokes and jumpy geathers

Re: Possible FA wish list for depth
I like nemo, 250 and can move like that, well, its almost like a mike alstott with wheels. I see him as the two in the portis 1-2 punch so I don't see any rb needs.
As for WR, i'd like to see a couple of the guys near the top of our depth chart hit the door, and bring in Givens and jerivisious if possible. There are other/better/faster/bigger play recievers out there, but I don't think we need one. Moss had enough big plays for 3 teams while being the only target, just think if there was a sure handed target on the other side that could move the chains consistently. Plus givens and jeriviousious have post season sucess already. Pick up a DE, maybe in the draft, maybe elsewhere...but that is a real need. The inside of our D line is strong, but we need a good pass rush without it coming from a linebacker. Last, I think we need a middle line backer. Nothing against marshall, but I see him as spelling washington/arrington on the outside and picking up about 50 tackles a year. I would love to see a powerhouse 250+ pound guy in the middle causing problems...that would basically set our defense off. Another O linemen, perhaps two, and I think were about set...other than the HUGE QB QUESTION WE HAVE. Da Bum |

well, we did pick up mccune last year (big and fast MLB). I agree the QB question is huge and somewhat ignored... I think the skins are trying to do the steeler thing where you get a ton of talent and then you're able to stick in an average QB and still be alright (roth is obviously above average, hence the SB). Hopefully campbell proves he's got it. just a note that if anyone wants a passrush starting this season instead of next, a FA is about 90% more likely to provide it over a rookie (since we don't have a 1st round pick). |

i think this is going to be a pretty good draft for de's.. and i think we will get a player inthe second round who can be a situational pass rusher for us until he learns to anchor against the run. we will also pickup a vet def end to provide depth and a pass rush. perhaps kalu or howard... or my fave, raheem brock |

Re: Possible FA wish list for depth
we need someone to get to the quarterback without breaking the bank.if that means drafting one, then so be it

Re: Possible FA wish list for depth
MAN O MAN...I didn't want to bring him up because I didn't know how others feel about him...but I frickin love the upside of Mcune. That big, that strong, that quick, and that fast. He is exactly what I want in the middle for us. Yeah, his pass coverage isn't great (YET), but how many middle linebackers(not in the cover 2) play a huge role in the pass. The guy is a tank, plays with attitude, and plays with the power of a Mack.
Ok, i'll stop worshiping him now. I just wouldn't be surprised to see him be in there to start the season, and be a frickin wrecking ball taking everyone off gaurd. I'm so big on him because I caught him in college and was amazed, and then the stuff with the military, and what he used for workouts while in the suck make me think this guy is the real deal. Re: Possible FA wish list for depth
he's a workout warrior, that doesn't mean his football skills are up to where they need to be though and he is 26.
In the 2nd/3rd there will be good situational pass rushers (DE/OLB types, mcclover and lawson), but no complete DEs (like M williams or hali, only tapp who has size and strength and speed issues right now). |
