Re: Edge to Arizona

Why this is good for Washington that James when to the Cards. First he is not in the NFC east. Then this gives the Seattle a team that will not roll over two times a year! Because if the Skins wanted to win a super bowl we need to be at home in the play-offs!

With this addition the Cardinals now have a legit running game.

This could make the NFC West a little bit interesting with Rams doing whatever the hell the Rams are doing and the Hawks obviously impressing last season. Now you have the Cards possibly moving up to try to take a wild card spot away from some teams in the NFC, very interesting.
so far the rams are having a good offseason. they kept their WRs, and they're building a defense... I don't know if there's enough out there for them to improve enough to push for the playoffs, but at least they're making an attempt. (their offense is snowhere near good enough to overcome a dreadful defense anymore, and even when is was, that kind of offensive power is RARELY seen).

Cardinals | Contract update: E. James
Sun, 12 Mar 2006 13:21:55 -0800

ESPN.com's Len Pasquarelli reports Arizona Cardinals RB Edgerrin James' four-year contract worth $30 million has the following breakdown: James receives an immediate signing bonus of $7 million and an additional roster bonus of $4.5 million later this week. James' base salaries are $3.25 million for 2006, $5.25 million (2007), $5 million (2008) and $5 million (2009), according to sources. The deal will pay James $20 million over the first two years. By comparison, the $62 million contract signed last week by RB Shaun Alexander with the Seattle Seahawks pays $18.5 million in the first two years.
they got the space, that's actually a good decision (as long as he stays healthy). at 5$ per they can keep him the length of the contract, ditch him if he hits the wall, and only keep him until 32 (when he'll be nearly worthless as far as contracts go).

I know they're having a great offseason, but for whatever reason, I forgot who their coach was. I was still thinking Martz for some reason (too much school going on right now). That's why I was taking that shot at them, I forgot all about Linehan coming in. I think this should make the NFC West very interesting this season.

I wasn't saying it was a bad decision, merely stating that he's getting a ton of money in the first year.

yeah, and if he blows up his leg or some such in the preseason or has a career ending injury, they're totally screwed.

Isn't any team who loses their franchise back screwed if he gets hurt?

Re: Edge to Arizona

Lets just be glad that we don't have to play them twice every year like we used to. That offense looks scary and that defense wasn't half bad last year. They have a lot of potential and they are going to give a lot of teams a hard time especially in that division.

yeah, but in that post i was reply to the fact that he gets 15mill in his first year. so if he comes up lame it hurts more than just losing a franchise back, cause not only is he not producing, he's also screwing your cap and ability to get a replacement.

Re: Edge to Arizona

Their defense could hold their own but was suspect to occasional mental lapses... things like blown coverages, people out of position, etc. What really has me doing a double take is the potential for that offense with the addition of James. They had a great pair of receivers and a decent O-line. If they fully utilize James in the offense with his running ability and pass catching coming out of the backfield, many defenses will have their hands full with this team.

Re: Edge to Arizona

I have lived in AZ since i was 3 years old. Born VA. and I jerk off to skins highlights but......with this pick up and maybe a QB soon, Denny may have a divisional playoff team goin here. I know..thats what all the (i am an awesome analysis guy/darkhorse picker) guys said last year. Those receivers are pretty Effin good.....this will deff open it up 4 them cause line is not bad either.

Who's going to throw them the ball after Warner? I hope they're planning on drafting someone.
