If Taylor doesn't play THIS season, he won't ever play another season again because that means he was actually convicted.

And I can't think of any player ever convicted of a felony having come back to play in the NFL. Let's pray he's not convicted.

I don't know if there's a rule prohibiting convicted felons from returning to play in the league or not, it's just the fact I'm not reminmded of any situation where they were.

I think the bigger issue is that he'd be locked up for a 9 year minimum sentence under the Florida sentencing guidelines.

Exactly. His prime would have come and gone while he was in jail.

He could be convicted on all three counts and have his sentences's run concurently and still only be 27 years old. The important issue is, if that were the case would he be allowed to return to the NFL even if he wanted too.

I think your math is off just a bit, if it is a 9 year min, and you say he would still be only 27 on his release from jail, then that puts him at 18 years old now. I am almost positive that he is older than 18...

If each count of which he's charged carries a mandatory min, of three years, and if convicted on all three counts and received the MM that would total nine years, but run concurently would be a total of three yrs. That's before time off for good behavior. So in essence he would only be 27, I think he 23 or 24 now.

Adam Archuleta will obviously be seen to fill a bigger role, with Ryan Clark now a Steeler and Matt Bowen a Bill, who could be brought in as a back-up to fill a role? Who from Coach Williams' past coaching would fit right in? Any insight?
If he can't play dose the Redskins have to pay him? Need to think about someone to be a back up plan. I have read Taylor is in more trouble that many of us think he is!

Hopefully we'll know what to do before the draft. And there should be some June 1st cuts too if we have to go that route.

Re: If Sean Taylor does not play this season...

I think the worse possible thing that could come of this whole scenario is that as Redskin fans we would regret not drafting Kellen Winslow (Yes I know we got Cooley since we drafted Taylor). However as its been said on this thread more than once, rich people don't go to jail. If OJ can get away with murder than ST can get away with waving a gun assuming thats what he did. And don't even think of comparing the ST situation to Maurice Clarets. Claret is not rich and has booked a suite at the Ohio State Penetentiary for however long his crime merrits.
