he's WAY slower than gates... i think during his draft year he put up a 4.96 40 time

he could still be a decent player, but he's been around the league a few years without making any of noise, so its less likely.

This is a good point, but speculation at this point. Will be interesting to see just how the offense is designed, will it be Gibbs' w/Saunders tweaking & calling plays, or a total Saunders overhaul?
Johnson is a solid blocker, I think he stands a good chance at making the roster as the 2nd TE, but that depends if we draft someone.

Gibbs' system is time tested, so there's no reason to believe Saunders will get rid of it. It will just be him tweaking the existing offense, just like Bill Musgrave did last year (shotgun), and Saunders will call the plays.

Re: Robert Johnson at TE

Honestly I seriously expect to see some pretty big changes. Maybe not in the overall scheme, but definitely some new packages thrown in.

Robert Johnson will be great to have on the team. They say he sold his soul at the crossroads to be so talented.

Must be true if he's still around playing.

Re: Robert Johnson at TE

I think his primary purpose of being here is blocking...he has good size but his speed and recieving skills are a question, Cooley is actually faster than him. Seems confident though...
