Re: Redskins Notes (3/31): K Wright, Evans etc
since we got thoses 2 OL backups LB has been favored (a #3CB is MUCH cheaper and easier to find than a starter LB in free agency). I'd still like to go OG in the draft cause i'm not sold on the OL fodder they signed (both to one year deals, meaning they're not highly thought of).

Re: Redskins Notes (3/31): K Wright, Evans etc
don't forget about Jamar Fletcher, according to the wp he's supposed to visit monday. He might not have turned out to be a shut down corner after getting drafted in the 1st rnd., but he's a solid nickel back.
I love the resigning of evans, he's made his career here & seems to be a gibbs/g.williams kinda guy, plays dt & de. he'll never be a star but he's 1 of the kind of role players that makes a team. |

Re: Redskins Notes (3/31): K Wright, Evans etc
yeah, i wonder if K wright kills the fletcher deal. but we only have 3 safeties, one of which can't cover, so he might still be brought in. It'd be crazy to get him and adams and still have a 2nd and a bunch of fodder draft picks... If we do that and don't win the SB it'd be a total failure though

I don't know about Adams, he's alright but maybe I'm having problems w/seeing an ex eagle in b & g.
I actually hope that Holdman comes back cheaply & plays well. From the sounds of it, he was never comfortable in the system, but maybe he'll be better in it the 2nd year. Not a long term answer, but he can provide depth if a draft pick can't win the job |

Unless there's clearly a better tackle available, I agree we should go for a guard. But I wouldn't pass up a tackle knowing that you could always plug him in at the guard position for additional experience. |

Re: Redskins Notes (3/31): K Wright, Evans etc
if holdman delivers any more sub-trashcan level games he'll need to be shot. Adams isn't a star, but he'd be a big upgrade over what we saw of holdman last year.

some of the guards can play tackle, some can't, but in the 2nd round you're generally getting complete guards that can play vs semi-project tackles (like guys that moved from TE etc). It just seems like people stretch for OTs and QBs and draft them above their talent levels too often :/ I'm all for best available OL though... but gibbs did say he was only looking for G/C backup guys, as if he was comfortable with the backup tackles we have. |

With the release of Kim Herring, do you think he would fit in with the skins? Considering GW likes safeties. I think he could be a good fit if his shoulder is all healed up.

K. Herring isn't much physically these days. He could make a decent backup.

I'm very excited we re-signed D. Evans. Theres just somthing about this kid that I think can be VERY special. I really didnt want to lose him this year, I think he could be a starter for us eventually!
