Agreed.. Why do some of us seem to think that local writers are supposed to be the leaders of the Redskins fan club? That's rather Extreme (pun clearly intended) isn't it? Just because a local writer doesn't think we're going to go 14-2 and roll to the Super Bowl IN APRIL doesn't mean he deserves to get ripped.

Maybe that explains why they aren't writing for thier own team. The media should know by now it's the diehard fans who buy tickets and memorabilia, and such. And we don't find pessimistic views by journalists who could care less about the team we love ammusing or entertaining. Maybe I should apply for the The Dallas Morning News. I'm sure their fans wouldn't get enough of me.

Why would the media care about who buys tickets or memorabilia? They care about selling papers..

It is not a sportswriter's job to suck up to the local team. They should be calling out why they may win or lose and back it up with some well considered insight.

I picked the Skins for 12-4 and the conference championship. If Snider sees 9-7 while pointing out that the NFC East will be tougher than last year, then he can make that point. It's valid. I don't have to agree and neither do you. This is all decided on the the field.

We can't as fans bitch and moan about the unfair reporting the Skins get on a national level and then decry someone for simply offering reasoned, but more negative than we'd like, opinions. It's called hypocrisy. At least this guy makes valid points and seems to report in a balanced way. His job is to be balanced just as it is Pasta's. All we should want is fair journalism from everyone and this guy has shown me that he is more than fair.

On top of that he has taken his free time to offer us insghts we can't get elsewhere. Those who are bemoaning him should look at the big picture and realize what a good guy he is. Rather than get mad why don't you all thank him for helping us out? I hope he never sees this junk and if he does see it I hope he realizes that 99% of us appreciate what he had done for us.

Well put FRPLG. I personally don't see how we can have the losses Mr. Snider says we'll have and still make the playoffs. But the great thing is we have the chance to ask him to explain his position. And he's not saying something ludicrous like "we continue to rotate our core players" or "major losses like Cory Raymer"

That was my initial point. Then I speculated he threw in the NFC Championship game to put us at bay.

I would just like to see the Skins go 2-2 against the AFC this year. I read somewhere that they are 0-10 against the AFC in the last 2 1/2 years! Geez, just when we get the division thing figured out (5-1 in '05) we did not beat anyone from the other conference! If they could just go 4-2 in the division and 2-2 against the AFC and then maybe 4-2 against the rest of their NFC opponents or maybe 5-1 then you have them at 10-6 or maybe 11-5, which will make the playoffs and possibly win the division. Just win at home and then beat 3 teams on the road. Here are their road wins, Houston, N.O. and St. Louis! Go undefeated at home and beat these 3 and there you go. If you can't go undeafeated at home, then beat one of our division opponents at their place, and you stil go 10-6 or 11-5. Then start the playoffs with maybe a home game. I like our chances with this senerio!

In the recent Q&A with Snider he states he is a self admitted Snyder hater and I know the mods on this site are since the Extreme Skins take over but what I still cannot understand is why . Would you prefer the Bidwells or the Glazers here, maybe the Lauries or even good ol JJ. Reporters should report on the news not try and be the news.
