I think the writers designed this movie ambiguous intentionally so people can argue over it for years to come. Sure, it parallels religion, that and about a zillion other abstract ideas.

Re: X-Men 3 Sucks Ass

Ok I also trully hated X-3 in every X-men movie they did something to change the reallity of the comic story for the sake of making a plot and putting decades of comics together like rogue filling in for jubbelli (don't kanoe how to spell it) place as Wolverine prodige.

But X-3 just crossed the line since when Colosus could use his armor power to protect others????..... they totally neglected the fact that Juggernut is Charles half brother????.... they destroyed the story by killing Jean and Cyclops ( we know charles is alive i nthe head of some nobody), they tryed to make a masssive mutant attack but all I saw was some extras running toward the X-men and armie mand and just die... of like 200 mutants I only saw the powers of like 7.... and what about the mutant with the porking spine powers has anybody seen a lammer power.

What was the point off angel in the movie? they made tons off publicity of him and he lasted 2 min on it.... and what happend with nightcrawler, the story was lame, the plot was lame the use of powers was super lame.... It just sucked

Re: X-Men 3 Sucks Ass

I guess I am changing the subject here, but that is why I really loved the Lord of the Rings movies. Peter Jackson could have just done up all of the action and special effects and left it at that, but he focused on the characters and their relationships with each other, (even though the action and special effects were Awesome!!!) and those relationships made the movie so much better! Frodo and Sam's friendship as portrayed in the movies was just so rich and deep, and not in a "homo" way if you think I am going that direction! As were Gimili and Legolas friendship and Gandalf's and Pippen's in the final movie. Some directors can just tell a story and others can not.

my only minor gripe is that frodo became a complete pussy (whimpering in corners every time a fight broke out) and the dwarf tossing jokes.

I also didn't like the game that they were playing, when they would count how many orcs they killed like they were keeping score. Did they ever stop to think that those 'points' represented lives? Did they think that those orcs could have had families? Instead of counting by ones, they should have counted the amount of orc babies that will grow up without positive male influences in their lives, which in turn could cause them to take up a life of violence and human eatting. It's really a vicious cycle, I thought Peter Jackson should have addressed that.

I think that the Spider-man trilogy will be good, pretty much because they kept not only the main actors but they same director for all 3. And for Sam Rami to not only be the director but a fan of the comic book helps to try to get it right.

I agree- so far, Spiderman has definitely lived up to par... the storylines actually match up to the quality of action. Raimi is the man! He didn't disappoint me in his first big budget blockbuster... been a fan since evil dead II!

Spidey proves that you can make a blockbuster without throwing story and character development to the wind. I felt X3 was thrown together, without a lot of post-work. Dunno if it was just me, but i thought there were a lot more one-lining groaners than the first two. After reading the preliminary reviews, I got myself to at least watch it for the eye-candy--- but it seemed like there was nothing that spectacular (in terms of effects). Nothing really exciting or original was added to the cg world... a particular character's "death" was pretty non-dramatic for that role's importance to the series. Gray's destruction scenes were fairly weak, considering her powers were supposedly untamed.

Some Trilogies are good. StarWars Episodes 4 5 and 6 were good, LOTR was good. You have to say the Godfather Trilogy was good. What you are really saying is that some 1st movies in an effort to make more money do a 2nd which is decent enough to do a 3rd, but at some point it all falls apart. A perfect example are the Rocky movies, which got progressively worse until number 5 was just a joke. I kind of have a feeling that the 2nd and 3rd Pirates movies with Johnny Depp will not disappoint. the Matrix was a disaster. Did anyone ever "get it" with the 3rd movie? I know I didn't.

I agree about it being thrown together but for the amount of time Ratner had to work on someone else's script and with someone else's cast I enjoyed it for what it was. He had a week after he signed on before filming started cuz FOX wanted the film out before Bryan Singer's Superman Returns. Given more time and adjusting the script I think it could have been better than it was. I watched the shows and read the comics as did a couple friends of mine who all went to the midnight opening w/me and we thought it was worth our money. The statement about fanboys is very true for some but in general sometimes people find stuff to whine about just like some people do when their favorite sports team is doing well
If I had any say so a few things would have been done differently, but then again with as much back history a series like X-Men has, it's a really hard project to turn into a movie without groups of people getting pissed off.

on a side note, when other people who went to see this, did a bunch of people in the crowd yell and cheer when the dumb ass looking Snakes on Planes trailer played?

I just can't wait to see what Chow Yun-Fat's character will look like in the 3rd movie.
