Let's everyone tell Brud that it's Kenny Wright, not Kenny Watson

Re: Training Camp -- Day 1 rundown.
The inaccurcies from the QB position looked like they were from rusty play, not inability to grasp the playbook. The play from the QB position wasn't awful, but it must get better.

Re: Training Camp -- Day 1 rundown.
will you be there tommorrow? let us know if the qbs continue to stuggle.
kind of silly but, if you were to pick a starting qb from the first day of practice would you say JC gets the nod? |

Re: Training Camp -- Day 1 rundown.
I doubt Im going tomorrow, but I might give it a go. If all three QBs were rookies with same background, etc. Campbell would have been my guy.

Re: Training Camp -- Day 1 rundown.
i was there. Andre carter is a mother f...ing beast. Like deseal said he made jansen and samuels look silly. It was nothing to him and samuels is a pro bowler. On Jacobs, he looked good but i didn't see anything amazing. he caught his balls and gave up early a few times. One time Saunders got all up on his ass and told him to keep running which made me yell out yeah saunders and saunder's enthusiasm drew a huge applause from the audience. Jacobs like got touched and stopped and saunders ran over and told him to get in the endzone. Jacobs didn't go full speed even then because griffin was staying with him. I heard someone behind me talking about Jacobs having no heart.
Ladell dropped a few balls on passes and fumbled one off a hand off. People started to get a little upset by his performance. I also agree with daseal on Jansen. Jon really sucked today. I mean he was embarrassed. When he was walking out and didn't have time to sign some fan yelled out something along the lines of, you are just mad because you sucked today. A bit out of line. I don't know if jansen could hear it but i did and i was standing pretty far from the guy. But it was true, jon was seemingly upset and it had to be due to his suckage on the field. I disagree about thomas. Thomas put griffin on the ground and like laid on top of him. It was a pancake. He destroyed him. OTherwise i didn't see thomas doing anything bad on the one on one drills. On a few of plays where more were playing i saw thomas make good blocks. Especially on one where he rolled out and was pushing numerous people out the way. Al saunders is just as cool as g w. Al would chase the players into the endzone all while yelling shit. He is awesome. He got cheers numerous times. My boi. Arch is a mother f...ing beast. He hit santana mid air and destroyed him. My friend i was with was pretty pissed saying that he is hitting to hard for practice. It was a pretty good hit. I saw the jacobs catch on sean a bit different. I saw sean coming in and from what i saw, and different things were happening all over the place so i could have missed it, it looked like sean had the opportunity of absolutely destroying jacobs. Like Jacobs wouldn't have to worry about making the team because he would be dead. Sean let him go instead of laying an amazing hit. Jacobs was doing a post to the middle and taylor was coming the other way. Kerry owned taylor. I thought taylor was going to finish his life right then and there. taylor got him but he broke away for a td. I am thinking if it was a game sean would have hit him as hard as he could and the play would be over. Now for those of you who have followed what i say about the QB situation you know its brunell's job. Today he mad me really upset. He sucked. He couldn't throw screen passes. He was horrible. He overthrew moss and if you over throw moss you have a problem because if he can't catch up to a long pass then it was really too far. One pass just sorta looked like the 04' passes where it would just hit the ground 12 yards away even though the receiver was 20 yards away. It was pretty bad. This is my first training camp. I really didn't like the way they were playing today. I went in more excited than i came out. ANDRE CARTER is going to be a pro bowl player. Daniels played well. The d-line is strong. Outside of that i wasn't really that impressed. The WRs were solid but i was upset about o-line play and QB play. Brunell was making me sick. I am thinking that this is early and they need to get in a groove so i am not going to be that hard on them but i thought the team didn't look great. Lets hope they improve. I don't expect to go tomorrow because of the |

Re: Training Camp -- Day 1 rundown.
To the whole Thomas/Griff thing. I basically saw Griff and Thomas go at it 3x in a row. First two times Griff owned him, 3rd time he pushed him into a stalemate. He was solid for the rest of the day, guess I just have high expectations for Randy Thomas!
As far as the Taylor/Jacobs thing. As I mentioned, my neck was a bit crooked trying to catch all the action. I saw Taylor fly to the ball, and I saw Jacobs grab it and turn up the sidelines. Sean seemed to be upset from the play, put his head up and hands on his hips (A hearty laugh at I WISH I WOULDA SUCKA). However, depth perception is a bitch and your account is most likely more reliable than mine.

Re: Training Camp -- Day 1 rundown.
The question now is, if Campbell plays a lot better than Brunell in training camp and preseason, who do we start? I hate to bring up this discussion again, but it might be worth some merit.

Re: Training Camp -- Day 1 rundown.
campbell is hella accurate. I saw them both and campbell played better but i don't want to see jason just yet. Brunell is a vet and i just don't see someone coming into their first year and taking this ship to the super bowl and that SHOULD be our goal because that is the goal of any good team.
Daseal, you could definately be right about the jacobs/tayor play. That is only how it looked to me. I felt taylor was just saying how bad he could have hurt jacobs. I said to my friend that taylor could have made the keep jacobs or not decision for us by killing him. My friend said we would probably keep jacobs anyways, because we always end up doing that. For those that didn't go, make sure you make it out to a practice because you have to see saunders in action. I love GW due to his attitude with the players and saunders is the same way. saunders was running with TJ and trying to knock out the ball of other player hands. He is so serious. He got more applause than anyone there yesterday. I now have no doubt that our coaching staff is the best ever in this league. GW and saunders seem like guys that will get close to the players and be hard asses while gibbs can just delegate what he wants. Gibbs will have more time for game plans and player evaluation, which he has done amazingly over the past few years. Just look at taylor and cooley in the draft of 04' and i am sure next year rogers will be a huge playmaker and campbell will be ready to be a league high passer. I feel our Lbs are somewhat weak, or were today. Like daseal said marcus wasn't a force on the field as where none of them. Cooley is truly a fan favorite by the way. He got a ton of cheers just for motioning. I plan on going again before the end but i don't know when. I am thinking i can go next week sometime because a lot of people i want to go with can then. Again when are the rest of you going? 1 question: I am coming from DC and i had directions telling me to take exit 9 on 267 west, i think, but there was a sign on the road that said go to exit 7. SO i was like i'll just follow the signs and disregard my directions. I went past 9 and before 8 i hit a $3.20 toll. My friend and I were like, Snyder is a sly mother f...er. Telling us to take 7 and probably taking a cut, well played. Obviously he wasn't taking a cut but i am curious, which way do you all go coming from DC? |
