Re: Brunell Lost a step?
are you serious? He threw for over 3000 yards, 23 TD's and only 10 Int with a QB rating over 85%. those are no scrub stats there are teams that would have killed for stats like that from there QB last year.

He throws one bad INT and now he is washed up.

Re: Brunell Lost a step?
he's gonna be 36. i'm sure he's lost quite a few steps and more.
that said, he's still the only pro starter we currently have, and this year will be the transition year to Campbell. Collins will be no more than a playbook coach at this point.

Re: Brunell Lost a step?
this is crazy. The two or three balls that Brunell threw into the ground were suppose to be in the ground. No way could he complete the pass, so he did the right thing and threw it away. The INT, if you noticed, Brunell was trying to throw the ball high and out. If you watch the replay, Lloyd broke in, when Brunell thought he was breaking out. if Lloyd is there the ball is either caught or incomplete. No one knows who was wrong there. I think Brunell was putting the ball in a place where he thought Lloyd could catch it, or it was incomplete. The other balls he threw looked pretty good to me. good zip on the ones accross the middle to Moss, the one Lloyd made was a good ball where only he was going to catch it. If that ball is a little more towards the side line, the DB has a play on it. Stop putting so much in two series of plays. This offense is about rythym and that 1/2 a quarter isn't the deciding factor. Lets give the Brunell Bashing a rest for a few more weeks.

Re: Brunell Lost a step?
I don't care if he throws the ball with zip or not. As long as he is making completions and moving the chains it works for me. He is smart QB and he will not put us in bad situations with stupid throws. That's like saying Campbell should start because he has the stronger arm.

Re: Brunell Lost a step?
Why not just hit the "Easy" button?

Re: Brunell Lost a step?
i think brunell did alright...they looked pretty stable that first drive....right down the field...brunell even had one long range fairly decent throw...not toooo worried....Campbell Looked like a champ for his second year...great pocket presence, great mobility, tight spiral...he will be great someday!!

Re: Brunell Lost a step?
Brunell will be fine, especially with our WR corps being much improved from a year ago.

Re: Brunell Lost a step?
I bet Patrick Ramsey would have been able to throw it away and not get an INT.
