Re: Superstar mode
After going through the offseason, i've realized something. SS mode is still not where it should be. The fun of getting to experience playing from the eyes of one person on the field is not enough to offset all the negative ish that makes you hate it. That and there are some incredibly unrealistic things about it. One thing i really disliked, was in the offseason, i went to go see who the Jets resigned, released, or signed through free agency. Turns out they didn't sign anyone, they released everyone who's contract was up, including over half the depth, and the same goes for every team in the league. I went to go see what the Redskins did, and pretty much everyone on the team that had one year left on their deals was gone. Mark Brunell retired, Collins was cut leaving the team with a 77 rated Jason Campbell, we only had one backup player on the oline, which was someone at left guard, we didn't resign Lemar Marshall, we only had 3 corners which were Springs, Rogers, and Christian Morton. Seeing that made me realize it didn't matter if i made the HOF, it's just not fun going through all that crap that you go through in SS mode. That's why i'm going back to franchise, where i can resign my players, trade for others, and slowly grow my players the way i want.

Re: Superstar mode
marshall has a 3 year deal... he shouldn't be a FA.
the problem is QBs on non-human teams never progress, so eventually all the teams end up with a bunch of 75-85OVR players and all the QBs have like 70 AWR max. i was a running back for denver and they passed 45 times in a game and ran 6. 6 runs, for the broncos. Plummer was 8/45 with 4 ints and 12 sacks and they just kept passing. I had a 9.8avg too. That's just general fscked madden AI at work though. they have yet to improve it, though running and blocking AI is a bit better, all the cpu controlled QBs seem to suck donkey balls now. |

Re: Superstar mode
Man, i'm so pumped after playing my first career game as a strong safety in SS mode. Remember earlier when i said i was making two SS mode careers, and one was a SS and the other was a wideout. Well, today i went back and started up the SS mode career. My dad was a HOF strong safety and my mom was a brain surgeon. Well, today i did the draft, and i dunno where i got drafted because I simmed it, but i got drafted by the Browns.
I went through training camp and did the preseason games, and when the regular season started i was a 94 overall, with 93 speed and acceleration, and 72 awareness. Well, i decided i didn't want to play for the Browns, so i went to my agent before the first regular season game and asked for a trade. Well, guess where it traded me. That's right, to the Redskins, in exchange for Pierson Prioleau. I was so happy. I didn't care that it gave me negative ego for doing it. Either way, the MNF game against the Vikings rolled around, and i started off great. The thing i didn't like was how easy it is to pick off qb's. Springs got 3, Rogers got 1, Taylor got 2, and Lemar Marshall got one. Springs also forced a fumble that i recovered. It was an awesome game, and the offense was able to record touchdowns off the turnovers pretty easily. In fact, so easily that the final score of the game was 63-0. Mark Brunell threw 7 touchdown passes, which is highly unrealistic, although most of them were a result of the turnovers. Either way, I'll take it, as i get to play for the Skins now. But it's also kind of odd, because when i was a wide receiver in SS mode they almost never threw the ball, and now i'm playing defense in SS mode and they pretty much always throw the ball. |

Re: Superstar mode
yeah, the cpu QBs seem to be trash now.
btw, someone figured out how to have two players per team on madden (so one guy can be the QB and another can be the RB or whatever) and it works online so you can play 2v2, which is kinda awesome. |

Re: Superstar mode
I'm a TE for the Vikings I love the combo of blocking Recieveing, I've always been a fan of Blocking with a big TE it's fun to pull around the corner and just blow a guy up. I love the Superstar mode, now if I could only get to the Skins! Also not sure if some of ya new this but on PS2 if you press L1 your reciever will wave that he's open and have better chance of getting the ball thrown to you. I'm a 89 speed TE on and I'm averageing 100yrds a game and a Td. and loving every minute of it

Re: Superstar mode
I had to be traded multiple times to get to MN and since they are my hometown team(originally from Hokah,MN) I didn't wanna gamble again and get stuck on the Giants or worse cowboys!

Re: Superstar mode
Well if you want to be traded to a good team, just save it before asking for a trade, and keep reloading SS mode until it trades you to a team you like.

Re: Superstar mode
Alright, i went back to my WR in SS mode. Instead of doing the whole season with the Jets, i simmed it. At the end of the year, my stats were around 60 receptions, with a little over 700 yards and 4 touchdowns. The running back stats were again skewed. I did make the Pro Bowl again as a kick returner. But check this out. Lemar Marshall, the newly signed MLB for the Oakland Raiders finished with over 200 tackles, 10 sacks, 6 int's, 5 forced fumbles and 3 recoveries, and was not only named Defensive Player of the Year, but MVP as well. Thomas Jones was offensive player of the year with over 1800 rushing yards. I decided to leave and check out free agency instead of resigning with the Jets. I got 5 offers:
A 2 year deal with the Chiefs A 3 year deal with the Giants A 2 year deal with New England A 3 year deal with Dallass A 2 year deal with Chicago. I chose the two year deal with New England, because i'd have Tom Brady throwing to me and i'd be the #1. |

Re: Superstar mode
So anyways, i'm playing a strong safety in SS mode right now, and i really love it. I'm having a lot of trouble getting interceptions though, usually when the qb throws my way it's away from me and my guy doesn't react enough in time to get there and intercept it. There have also been a couple times where i've been in perfect position, but the ball just hits him in the hands and he drops it.
