ND is way over rated and shouldn't be a top 25 team!

Only reason they are in the top 25 is TV ratings!

---That's a bit of a stretch don't you think? ND may not be a top 5-10 team but they certainly deserve to be in the top 25. And ND will always get good ratings regardless of their win-loss record. Still it was a great game, seems like it always is with those two teams. Quinn is an excellent QB when he's given time to throw. He just seemed pretty rattled in the first quarter. Great comeback for them though.

If you take the blinders off for a sec, and ask yourself whether a non-top ten team would have been capable of that comeback, you'd realize they are really as good as they are hyped. Both Michigan State and Michigan are VERY good teams. This is a team who beat Penn State at home be an insane margin. Watch as they beat up on the next 7 teams on the schedule, and go into USC with a Nat'l title game bid on the line.

IF Ohio State losses.
It is funny how quickly forgotten the 41-27 ass whipping two weeks ago the real Michigan team gave ND.

This thread is not correctly titled, they barely beat Michgan STATE.
ND lost - no they were crushed by Michigan two eweeks ago.
Brady Quinn did not look like the most ready for NFL QB in the Michigan game (3 ints and 3 sacks). Brady Quinn is not ready to face NFL defenses.
I am neither a ND or Ohio State fan, but ND is not a sure thing.

For the final I would like to see the rubber match of OSU vs Texas.

"Great comeback" They got their ass kicked for 3 quarters straight. Let's be realistic Michigan blew the game.

Tough to blow a lead that big to a non top-25 team, isn't it? I came away really impressed with Michigan State, even if they couldn't keep their foot on the jugular.

Well gee whiz, let's look at the next 7 teams, shall we? Notre Dame is notorious for a cream puff schedule:

September 30 Purdue
October 7 Stanford
October 21 UCLA
October 28 at Navy
November 4 North Carolina
November 11 at Air Force
November 18 Army

Come on ... Army? Navy? UNC? Stanford is practically division II, UCLA blows. Why didn't they schedule the Salvation Army while they're at it?

Michigan State and Penn State are wanna-bees. And the Fighting Bums are gonna get creamed by USC. Then, they'll lose whatever bowl bid they get for an NCAA record 9th straight time.

Like I said, F*#! the Irish.

I think they have the toughest non-conference schedule in the NCAA. I mean, yeah those are 7 powderpuff games, but they opened with a murderers row of GT, Penn State, Michigan, and State, and they STILL have yet to play USC. Sure there are some easy teams on the schedule, but only the SEC teams have it tougher.

Every team Notre Dame plays is non-conference because they're too afraid to get beaten up every week if they joined the Big Ten.

Georgia Tech is hardly part of "murderers row." They're #24 now and will be knocked out of the top 25 when Va Tech dispatches them this weekend. The Yellow Jackets have always been 'middle of the pack' in a very weak ACC. Penn State was good last year. Michigan State? Only Northwestern, Illinois and Indiana are worse in the Big Ten. And trust me, before they throttled Notre Dame, Michigan was considered to be on the decline. Only now are people talking about them as being any type of noise maker.

Why would ND be afraid of getting beat up in the Big 10 (or is it 11) when they beat up the the Big 10 teams that they play every year. The Big 10 needs ND but ND does not need the Big 10. ND would gain nothing from joining a conference

WOOOOOO... Let Calvin come into Lane stadium and run train. I hope GT desimates Va Trash this weekend.

This coming from a huge Noles fan, not a GT fan.

State did something against ND that I don't believe Minnesota, Purdue, Wisconsin, Northwestern, Illinois, Indiana, and maybe even Iowa wouldn't even be capable of. Penn State is ranked, deserves to be ranked, and still are absolutely not in the same class as the Irish. Win or lose, Michigan State has proved so far this year that they deserve to be top 25, and I could see them taking down Iowa or Michigan. Michigan may be the countries' most underrated team. I'm not saying that because they beat the Irish. I THOUGHT they would beat the Irish preseason (it's in the preseason NCAA FB thread). I also thought the Nat'l championship would be ND-West Virginia. I'm not going to change my prediction because it's been spot on so far. No one will come out of the Big Ten without a loss. Iowa and Michigan will lose one each. Ohio State and Mich. State will lose two each. (Yes, this means that Michigan will beat Ohio State)

Talk about a meltdown. The Spartans f'ed that game up -- sitting back in prevent, not sending anybody after the QB, playing it predictably conservative when they had the ball on offense.

F*#! the Cowboys, and f*#! the Fighting Bums of Notre Dame.
I'll third that. I'll take a ND loss over anything but a Skins victory and a Cowgirlz defeat!

"They got their ass kicked for 3 quarters straight."

--That shows right there you didn't watch the game. They were down 17-0 after the 1st quarter and outscored the Spartans 40-20 the final 3 quarters.

Re: ND 40 Mich 37 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

"Well gee whiz, let's look at the next 7 teams, shall we? Notre Dame is notorious for a cream puff schedule."

--I love these kinds of posts. ND this year alone opened up at GT, (never mind the fact most major powers open at home vs some doormat, let alone on the road or against anyone halfway decent). And no, GT isn't a superpower, but tell that to both Miami and Auburn last year who GT beat. Then ND played Penn State, Michigan, and MSU in back to back weeks. Not to mention having USC, UCLA on the schedule as well. Sure UCLA is having a down year but those schedules are made years in advance.

And I love how people bash Navy and Air Force when those teams usually are good enough to be bowl teams. But nobody ever bashes say, Penn State for playing I-AA Youngstown State in addition to Temple and Akron. Or how bout mighty Purdue, who so far hasn't played a single road game and it's 3 nonconference games so far were I-AA Indiana State, then Miami of Ohio and Ball State.

People look at ND's schedule and sees Navy, Army, etc and love to scream "oh they play creampuffs" but totally disregard the fact they always play USC, Michigan, Mich State, Purdue, etc...with many other tough games thrown in. The last two seasons Tennessee was on the schedule too. Florida State has been on and off in recent years. So has LSU, GT, BC, Washington, Texas, Texas A&M, Nebraska, West Virginia, Ohio State, Pitt, Penn State, Oklahoma, and more. Of course people say well Washington stinks or Tennessee was bad last year, as if that's ND's problem when those schedules are made sometimes 7 years in advance.

It's not like ND is loading its schedule with patsies like many ranked teams do. Sure there are some softies on there, but all teams have them. But on average ND plays something like 8-9 bowl teams per season, from all conferences and parts of the country.
