Re: LA Responds to Critizism

I mentioned this in another thread but I think it is relevant here. I heard lavar on the John Thompson show right after the Seattle loss, and he said that we were building something special here, and that he hoped he could be a part of it. He said that he would be willing to take a paycut to stay here. That's why all his comments are so disingenuous. Should have gotten out 2 years ago? He was on radio begging to stay a few weeks before they cut him! What a jerk! For someone with an ego his size, it is tough to come terms with the fact that he failed as a Skin. No one had a grudge against him, he just didnt make the team better, that's why he didnt play. There wasnt an anti-Lavar conspiracy. Its not a feckless organization. He failed to make us better, end of story.

I went to Penn State and always had affection for him, but looking back I can see that I defended him way past the point it was appropriate for me to do so. So to everyone on this board whom I argued with the last two years about whether Lavar should be playing or not, let me say that I am sorry, and I was completely wrong.

Re: LA Responds to Critizism

i saw this interview on comcast...lavar was definitely pissed off. he definitely has some hard feelings, and when gibbs was mentioned he got REALLY pissed off. the whole wanting to get out 2 years ago thing was rediculous though, kind of a slap in the face to those who loved him when he was here

I'm a little tiny bit dissapointed in our Skins for making comments about him like that. I don't like any players talking bad about one another. It's just not cool. Everyone should have respect for the other guy...

This is GIBBS football, and Skins don't act like that... or I would at least hope they wouldn't.... Save it for TO.

yep, hess. I don't like OUR players talking bad about anyone ... all they should be thinking about is themselves and executing the gameplan. as for others ... I don't care if they get distracted thinking about us.

Re: LA Responds to Critizism

Let LaVar be pissed, who cares, is anyone really worried about a LB with a bum knee who's past his prime?

I really think Lindsey and Springs tried to get in his head and it obviously worked.

He's going to be so amped up he'll probably burn out after the first play.

Re: LA Responds to Critizism

Knowing our luck, he will have a stellar outing against us, and fade back to mediocrity immediately after. Lavar probably comes away with an INT, a sack and a couple of huge hits.

Re: LA Responds to Critizism

LaVar is not an impact player anymore and unfortunately for him he doesn't know it yet. His anger is conveniently pointed towards the Skins organization but watching him play now it is readily apparent that he is a shell of his former self. His lack of explosion is obviously due to his knee and watching him play the last few games up here in NYC--he runs more upright than I ever remember. He just can't get low anymore. Coupled with his lack of speed now--LaVar is rendered mediocre.

I always liked LaVar and he paid his dues during those lean years here but now I just feel sorry for him. He's almost irrelevant now. Is he still capable of a big game? Maybe. Will it happen this week? Who knows. I'm just glad it's LaVar that the Skins are facing as opposed to a playmaker like Shawn Merriman. Or Urlacher. Or Sean Taylor...

Becareful!

He knocked Cadillac Williams out the playoff game in Tampa last year.

Lavar can still bring it, once he figures out which way the play is going.
