I would be inclined to think the latter would be more acurate. There's nothing that would lead me to believe that Campbell is dumb, any QB who can learn a different system every year he's played the game shouldn't have a cerebral problem. If that were the case then the Redskins would have to be the dumb ones for trading, and giving up what they did for him. I'm of the opinion JG and Al Saunders should have gotten together and made a decision on who the #2 QB was going to be before he decided to hire him to call the plays. JG told Jason one thing at the end of the season last year, then hires Saunders, he brings in Collins and they tell him something different. The Redskins played a hell of a price for a QB who after two seasons cannot be considered the #2 In my opinion there's more going on here than meets the eye. |

C'mon the guy had his toenail ripped off and we're acting like he's a crybaby?
I had two of my ingrown toenails cut out once and I'm telling ya, if I had to go play in a football game just minutes later I would have been crying like a 5 year old. The pain of the procedure is bad enough, but if someone stepped on that bad boy oh man, talk about white hot pain. He didn't even miss a snap so this is a non-issue anyway. |

Re: Brunell haters...what if they put in Collins?
Did you guys miss JGs discussion of this at the beginning of the year? Collins is #2 because he knows the offense well and can jump in cold is MB goes down. They want a week to insert a simplified scheme if MB is down for more time, so that Campbell has the best chance to thrive in this complex offense. Remember, the second and third QBs get basically NO time with the first team offense during the week. Putting in a rookie (basically) who is less familar with the offense makes little sense, IMO, if you've got a guy who knows it sitting there. But if it's a longer-term deal, then they can set the stage properly for JC.
PS IMHO, people are going to be very surprised if and when Collins gets in. He's got a stronger arm than MB at this point, and he knows the offense better. He had some shaky moments in preseason, but doesn't he hold a bunch of passing records at U MICH? I don't think Saunders keeps him around just as a friend. I bet he can throw the 3 yard MB dumpoff just fine, and probably some passes MB can't make. (This may be wishful thinking, but what the hey...)

Re: Brunell haters...what if they put in Collins?
what's missing at QB is some athleticism and some instinct. defenses in today's NFL are so aggressive and fast, you need confidence in your legs or arm to actually BEAT someone. Brunell and Collins are the furthest thing from that.
